Hello everyone, where has the month gone? January has flown past and sadly not all my plans have come into effect as I had hoped they did due to delays and people being busy. That said I do have news to share with you as me and my friends have been busy!

Firstly for those who don’t know, the Mengine Model Works public discord server was updated! My friend RailwaySparrow took over as admin and revamped it with new chats, a patreon only section and tabs where you can find all my public models (as well as patreon exclusive ones) in one place! If you haven't already, please go check it out! If your discord account is linked to your patreon you will automatically have the roles to see the patreon exclusive chats.

Secondly RailwaySparrow and I also set up a trello board! This board is public so please feel free to share it! It should help you all keep up with what models I plan to release here, what I am making for myself (some of which may end up releasing here!) as well as the progress about commissions.

This board is being updated daily with WIP pics as well as having new items added to it. Go check it out!

Now, if you do check out the Trello you will see I have MANY outstanding commissions to complete, well over 50 of them and I wanted to explain why. I live with my elderly mother who is sadly very ill. I won’t go into details but it leaves me as her career and much of my time away from making these models goes into helping her, both physically with her ailments as well as financially with bills and cost of food.

Before I started this patreon I was living for a while off only the payment of commissions which is why I kept opening up for new ones before old ones were finished. I am very thankful so many of you have come to support me here as it has made it easier on me and my mother.

Outside of that things have been slow going. I’m getting ready to go off to college which is taking some of my time and looking for exporters for my models is a challenge right now as many of them are busy.

That said I do have some news for you after a rather more somber update then usual! My good friend Seaswine09 has been helping with revamping the patreon and supplying art assets as well as a new commission sheet (for which you can see a sneak preview on the discord server!) which will bring in lower prices at the expense of exporting costs no longer being covered so I do hope people like them.

Onto Releases!

While I sadly have nothing to put out just yet I do have things in the works! I have sent off some Sodor & Mainland Railway engines to be exported (TRS19 + T:ANE) which I hope to be releasing this month as a bundle! On top of that I wanted to try my hand at a TVS flying Scotsman in an S7 style after seeing all the excitement around the idea recently. My take is that he would have been introduced instead of Spencer so I aimed to make him match the level of detail of other S7 newbies, with my own twists of course. Here are some images of it so far which I hope you will enjoy!

It will include

  • Cut & Uncut Buffer Beams
  • GNR Coal Rail, LNER Corridor & Water Cart Tender(s) (w/ optional Corridor Loads)
  • "American Tour" Loads (Bell, Headboard, Headlamp, & Cowcatcher Loads)
  • Original Dome & Single Chimney Loads
  • Optional German-Styled Defectors
  • "The Flying Scotsman" Headboards (Standard & Preservation variants)
  • Small & Large Scale Whistle Valve Loads

Finally I know everyone wants to know about my NWR fleet 1-11. They are coming but I am wanting to redo some of them. Edward, Herny, James & the Scottish twins need to be updated and I am working on it and when I have a more solid date I will be sure to share it! Just keep an eye out on the trello as any updates will be posted there first!
