Omg I didn't expect this but oh I'm so ready to see what you think of this phenomenal movie. Plus this feels like a culmination of everything you've watched of BTAS so far and I'm just excited to see what you think of this!

Wow! You made it to arguably one of if not the best Batman movie. Not my favorite but in the top 3. It’s a interesting original story because they used elements of Year One and Long Halloween to make a tragic story. Andrea aka Phantasm is a original character made for this film. So the whole love story was added in for the extended backstory for Bruce becoming Batman in this universe. The Phantasm did became a fan favorite that DC eventually introduce her in the main comics continuity decades later in Batman/Catwoman (2020) Ironically she debut in a comic where Bruce and Selina are a couple so I’m assuming there was jealousy from Andrea. Lol #BatCatIsOTP. Because this was a movie, they can get away with showing more darker themes and seeing the more sinister side of The Joker that the series didn’t explore much.

Side note: Andrea’s voice actress is the same person who voiced Lois Lane in Superman the Animated Series which makes me think that they asked her to play the role after this movie cause she did do a good job here.

What’s a surprise! The music to everything in this is great & aside from it having continuity connections I jsut love that we get to see this version of Bruce’s first love really & how his vow just influences all the other relationships he has in the future with Selina, Talia and even Dick to a degree. They give us a bit of Jokers backstory too ugh soo good Kevin & Mark are amazing happy you loved it and can’t wait for you to see more of this world Meg your gonna love it

YES I’m so happy you’ve reacted to the first of the Batman the animated series tie in movies. The animation budget is higher in this on, the story is well crafted and Shirley walker does an incredible job on the score once again

Yay!!! I’m so happy you enjoyed this one! It’s my favorite Batman movie! I love the Nolan trilogy and the most recent Bat movie, The Batman, but this is the definitive Batman movie to me! And yeah it does take some elements from Year One, as well as the slightly lesser known Year Two, and creates an original story that is easily one of my favorites. The music is amazing, and the voice acting, particularly from Kevin, Dana, and Mark, is stellar. I just go batty for this movie lmao 😊🦇 I didn’t get the chance to see it in theaters the first time it was out, but I loved it as a kid. Years later, on its 25th anniversary I was finally able to see it on the big screen and loved finally getting to see one of my favorite movies in theaters😁

This is definitely the most COMPLETE Batman movie ever made in my opinion. It has the action associated with Batman, the sadness and pathos of Bruce, a mystery with Batman being a detective, and the best romance we've ever seen from a Batman movie. All perfectly balanced out. The Tragic Romance in particular really makes Phantasm stand out.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this movie. When you ask most people what there favorite Batman movies are, usually you'll hear people say Batman 1989, The Dark Knight or The Batman. And while they are great movies, there is something about movies like this, Under the Red Hood and The Dark Knight Returns that to me I just love so much more than any of the live action movies. This is definitely up there as one of my favorite Batman movies of all time. I'm so excited for your reaction to the next upcoming episodes of BTAS and getting back into STAS cause now we're getting into some of the really good stuff

Hard to believe this one did poorly in theatres, I guess word of mouth wasn't as prevalent in the 90s. The #1 animated Bat-film, covering a lot of previously unseen background for the series, including the closest thing to a past for the Hamill Joker we'll get. The Phantasm is very loosely based on The Reaper from the Year Two graphic novel; another death-themed vigilante who kills criminals and damages Batman's reputation.

This is definitely one of my favorite Batman movies from the 90's! It sorta went deeper into Batman's origin story, it wasn't just his parents it was also heartbreak. Yeah Bruce actually had a first love back then named Andrea and he was gonna marry her too, they would've been very happy together if she and her father didn't have to leave Gotham like that in the first place. You're right about how they should've just asked Bruce for help, I know he would've been glad to help them out loaning them some money. Anyway after all that time she finally came back full of vengeance as The Phantasm and Bats just couldn't save her from that unfortunately.

My Great Grandma took me to see this in theatres when I was 3. I love this movie so much! It's my favorite Batman film and one of my favorite movies of all time. I watched the vhs sooo many times that I have the Thumbelina trailer before the movie memorized. I honestly think Arthur Reeves is probably the most evil character in the film. He got Andrea's father killed and then try's to sleep with the man's daughter. That's sooo messed up! Every time he is on screen I want to punch him. I wish the Joker had just killed him, but I then again Batman does need info from him. Oh well. I'm really glad you enjoyed the film! I look forward to you seeing the rest of the DCAU!

The movie barley had a budget for advertising, so no one knew it was in theatres till it was too late. Here's a cool late review that was done on the film! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_KcFFqLggY
