yeah, this movie is a mess... I was really interested to see your reaction but really sad this was your first real experience with Barbra's story. I saw this movie when it showed in theaters and it's just as bad as I remember. She is my personal favorite in the whole DCU and they did her so dirty in this. The issue is she is intertwined with so much of the universe but there is very little that focuses just on her.  For comics, there are three good places. My personal favorite is the new 52-run they did back in 2013. Although some find issues with her getting back her ability to walk I found the story did a wonderful job going through her whole history. As well as diving into her struggle with all the identities and secrets she has held. I absolutely love the original birds of pray run in 1999 (sorry unlike the recent movie little to no Harley Quinn) but it would be a harder thing to jump into because it involves a lot of the extended DC universe. But it's a great comic that spotlights a lot of women in the DC universe. Basically a team of woman superheroes and villains that Barbra brings together as Oracle to do missions. I think you would personally enjoy batgirl year one, like its namesake it does a great job of introducing how Barba became batgirl. There is a voice-acted motion comic of this available but unfortunately, that's really it when it comes to Barba focus media.

I had to write a comment already at 20 minutes to the show.I am not as familiar with comics of DC as i am with Marvel but i have general knowledge. I do not like romance between Barbara and Bruce. That was unnecessary and weird. But what is true is that Batman is over protective towards every partner he has. As you might remember from Arkham City when Batman did not want Robin get involved. You'll see more of that over protectivness in Arkham Knight. What they also got right that Batman is very emotionless especially in his Batman persona. All light heartness when he appears as Bruce is just an act. Bruce is his mask and Batman his true self. Biggest issue with this particular romance is that Batgirl is like 20 and Bruce at his 40s. He could be Barbaras father. In comics Barbara usually had relationship with Nightwing (Dick Grayson). They're same age and it is much more fitting. But don't worry. Barbara and Bruce do not have thing going on in Arkham Knight. In Arkham series Talia and Catwoman are his main romantic interests.
