yeah he starts abducting them, also there were some age issues in some comics but in the animated series they needed to adapt him in a Way that more fitting to kids as well. so he can get really dark in other medias though

This episode always stuck out to me because of Jervis' minions. Batman fights his share of weird villains, but being in a big brawl with a bunch of crazy storybook characters and them being *serious threats?* That's not something you see everyday in this series!
