If you're looking for a show that's different from the usual, I'd recommend Death Parade. I don't know how it'd perform since it's a few years old but it's only 12 episodes

THIS. Death Parade is CRIMINALLY underrated. So many great themes and messages packed into an emotional roller coaster of a show tied up nicely with one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in any medium. And it gets glanced over just because it's not a mainstream battle shonen.
