Yeah i feel like youre pretty on point with your interpretation. I also feel it is a case of broken identity. In working so hard to suppress his powers, I think Mob ended forgetting a part of himself. In the grand scheme it seems to have done more harm than good. Instead of embracing his powers and working hand in hand with that side of him, he instead kin of relinquished control so his power is just wild and not nurtured in any sense.
