They did condense a lot of what happened but there are many story beats that they made sure to put in for them and for the fans. Pike leaving to fix her connection is a nod to her player Ashley Johnson not be able to play a lot do to filming Blindspot in New York at the time. Also the stories around the fire about the strangest kills all of them took place at some point in the real game, not sure about Scanlan's though.
