People talk about the 90s feel of this anime a lot. But there really is something to that. Especially in that goodbye episode. Things seem simple and peaceful. Nostalgia is always a thing, but I think a big reason people love the 90s so much is that everything was so honest. Especially regarding relationships. It was a time after feminism, when women weren't bound to traditional expectations and could be honest about what they wanted, but before PC culture, where men didn't have to censor every little thought or feeling.
