i just want to clear some point, arcane level is basically another term, it doesn't mean any arcane magic is better than regular 0 , they basically don’t know much about it to that reason she said u may be able to beat the devil because u have many types of power, if u noticed she told nero u r around 6 while she is arcane

notice how Loros staff has the eclipse from berserk, a nice reference to let us know bad shit is coming LOL so pretty much what we got for explanation on magic stages is that, if your attribute falls under natural mana (Wind,Water,Fire,Earth & any of the subcategories of those previous mentioned[lightning would be one example since gaja is stage 0 with lightning attribute with falls under the wind attribute]) they cannot kill a devil but can borrow the power of nature. people magic attribute that cannot fall under those categories have the potential to become arcane if they already arent. Arcane isnt necessarily the strongest person, as we see with nero being arcane but having her ancient sealing magic(cant fall under the nature categories) and use of forbidden magic, not really something you can fight with, arcane is just magic that can affect other worldy magic. mmm best way to explain i guess would like how when loro is talking about the magic of clover kingdom it shows spatial magic but with purple aura(which is langris' spatial magic, cause finrals is green) which means langris is going to be revealed as arcane at some point most likely, and finral though also having spatial magic, was not considered arcane by Gaja or the queen probably because the fact he doest have an attack spell which would affect other worldly magic. good first episode to the anime arc, im excited to see the training, we also got a few questions that we were unsure about in the manga answered this latest episode which is nice, finally getting a cool down moment in black clover which we dont usually get with how fast paced tabata writes. the anime def made it seem like arcane was above stage 0 by accident by placing it above the scale when putting in on the side of the scal would have worked better
