I still love the fact that this series is loosely based off of real events and real people in history over 1000 years ago. As a story its straight fire.

Only warriors can get into Valhalla, so dying on the battlefield is one of the only ways, its a fucked culture but I guess that's what made them the pillaging machines that ruled over the northern hemisphere.

Thanks for listening to my suggestion, I do hope you enjoy this show. The first 3 episodes are fairly slow, 3rd is better and then everything after is pretty well paced. Something to note, every major character introduced is either a real person in history or based on a real person. Of course this show is categorized as "Historical Fiction," it has some actual history behind it, but the mangaka, Makoto Yukimura, does exaggerate sometimes. Leif Ericson was the first person to sail to Vinland, which was what Canada and some parts of the US was called. This story is very raw cause it shows you how people actually acted back in the day.

I always thought the exaggerations were just how those people depicted in folklore, which is fairly accurate if you base it off that.

I hope you'll read this. Ok, in norse mithology they have their heaven called Valhalla, where its said that all the good viking warriors that fought in the name of odin and died on the battlefield proudly gets to valhalla and gets to feast and drink with the gods, thats why the urge for fame and this philosophy of proudly dying on the battlefield. And what you saw vikings doing with the priesy, its true, they were ruthless and attacked and ravagsd many villages, for treasure, especially old england, eseex, northumbria, etc, some names of kingdoms, the anglo saxons, what they were called back in the day. Vikings were ruthless, yeah, killing people,women, raping them,priests, attacking curches and tormenting the priests for sure and mocking god. But they were also smart. So thats how it was
