So in regards to Hamon vs Stands and all that, they will detail the origins of Stands later on and where they came from, how Dio got his etc, but that won't be for a little bit. Hamon is mostly just not going to be used aside from by Joseph every so often since it is mostly only useful on vampires and Pillar Men, but those aren't going to be super common anymore aside from the obvious exceptions. The writer of Jojos felt limited by Hamon so he switched things up to Stands is the honest answer for the change, but story beats will come later on.

This is a great explanation without giving him too many answers 👍🏾 I always had the notion that Hamon was mainly used against vampires and the Pillar Men, so now that we have moved away from that, a new power system seems like a good move.

Im not sure if anyone has told you but, for Jojo's ESPECIALLY Part 3 its always best to watch the unrated version which you can find on other sites or with dvd's. There's no black screen and it has better subtitles, as well as it doesn't censor things, like when Jotaro was smoking that Cigarette on ep 6. I'm not even sure if you read comments but just wanted to let you know.
