Buddy Rich Shawnee Drum Solo 1987 (Patreon)

Here's the drum solo from Shawnee that I transcribed years ago. I didn't make a proper sheet that time and I've written it and found out there were some notes I didn't notice.

このソロはバディの晩年の演奏の代表的な例で、歌が４〜８小節ごとにしっかり区切られていて、何を演奏しようとしているかがよりわかりやすい構成になっています。同時にさりげなく入るルーディメンツ等技術がより洗練されており、フレーズ一つ一つがいい個人練習になりうるクオリティです。

一つ、バディリッチらしい構成のされ方で代表的なのが一枚目最後のフレーズ。2枚目の最初の４小節で用いられる展開が、一枚目最後の４小節目から食って入っているというやつです。このスピードで演奏しているため、「食って入ったフレーズ」よりも３小節＋５小節構成の少しトリッキーな印象を与える効果を出しています。耳コピして譜面を作るとこういう部分がよくわかるのでやっぱり面白いですね。
