I’m surprised people don’t like Colossal doing the sponsor reads, I really like them and they’re fuckin hilarious. Also the 15-minute cities concept is really interesting l, it does seem really dystopian because it’s kinda sus to essentially locked in a city.

This implies the concept of a city state. I think that 15 minute cities are designed to lower the usage and necessity of cars, thereby making things more accessible, encouraging activities such as walking that promote public health, allow for more space for pedestrians and bikers (no not the gangs) while, most of all, promoting the usage of public transport. Aka busses, trams, metros. High quality public transport grids can sometimes extend to neighboring cities, also trains and the like exist. You are not locked in a city through this. The core intention of doing this is to promote accessibility, access, public health, reduce carbon emissions while making sure that all the services needed is close by. Fining car users is a concerning thing, however it's not like you're being charged for taking a metro to another block. Many of those who complain about public transport either are obsessed with flexing culture, fancy bugatti's (blegh) or are just used to things like American public transport, which is absolute dogwater due to an emphasis on car culture.
