Another quick status update (Patreon)

Hey y'all!

I just wanted to give you a quick status update! The original plan was to do that with a new OctoPrint on Air this week, but it currently looks like I won't be able to do that thanks to a nasty sinusitis that has put me out of service. And next Tuesday I have a planned surgery coming up (nothing too bad, please don't worry, just something that needs to be taken care of before it might become a problem longer term), so I really need to get this sinusitis under control until then and won't be able to record an OctoPrint on Air episode next week either.

As you see, perfect timing - not 😅

So you'll get a written status update for now instead! 

You probably have seen that the first two release candidates for 1.10.0 went out, and things are so far looking really good! We'll likely need a third one to iron out some minor stuff yet, but all in all I'm really happy that so far - despite some very heavy changes behind the scenes to improve performance and security - the RC phase has been quite calm and surprisingly issue free. Which is a huge relief of course 😊

With the timing mentioned above expect the third RC to get pushed out not before early March. That gives plenty of time though to hunt down anything that might still be hidden in the current RC and that needs fixing beforehand, so if you feel interested in and able to help testing, please do 😊 Infos on how can be found in every RC release announcement, including the latest about 1.10.0rc2.

I can't wait to be able to push out 1.10.0 for y'all, I think it packs a bunch of quite nice improvements, and really want to see them released 😁

For now though, keep your fingers crossed for me please that I can wrangle this personal clogged nozzle situation into submission and next week all goes well.
