It's hard to believe but it's actually already a year since I started this campaign. I published it and the accompanying call to action on the evening of April 13th 2016 - and boy was I nervous! I had no idea how people would react to my plea for financial support and feared the worst.

But what happened instead was simply mind boggling. The number of supporters immediately started climbing, my inbox exploded, you helped spread the message further and within a couple of days I started to have the feeling that this might actually work as the new way to finance my full time work on this piece of software. And it turns out it did! Even now a year later, I'm still struggling to believe this, and it really makes me a bit emotional from time to time :´)

No matter if you've been on board for the full ride or only just joined: Once again, thank you all so much for rallying behind me, showing me your support and enabling me to continue to work on this! It really means a lot to me to know that I have such an awesome community at my back!

And as a little something to celebrate the first anniversary of this campaign, I've included a little blooper reel compiled from all those takes of my campaign video that I couldn't use for ... obvious reasons. I hope it's entertaining ;)

Wow a year? Time flies when you are printing untethered :-D Thank you for all your great work and the great effort you put into this. I think you are one of the best examples of what is possible with systems like Patreon

And that's why Tom uses a teleprompter for his videos ;)

foosel

I HAD a teleprompter ;) I was just not capable of reading from it without stumbling over my own tongue :D

Gina - Truth be told, I backed you 50% Octoprint and 50% because you inspire me. I love what you have done and how you've done it. Keep up the awesome work!

Congratulations :D You're fallibility is reassuring :D

Awesome that you made this work. It's good to see that the open source community will get behind a creator in this way.

Congratulation Gina, I think I can speak for others, your handwork and talent are very much appreciated. PS: You sound like me when I'm trying record. I tell everyone, if you want to shut me up, put a camera in front of me.. :-)

Thank-you for giving me something to point to (Octoprint) when someone says "Nobody can make a living making open-source software".

I'm with Brent - you are an inspiration to us and Octoprint rocks. Where can i get that t-shirt???

You're the first open source software developer I've backed, well worth it. My 3d printer would be hard work without octoprint
