A little insight into how my brain works, and doesn't work...

Back at the end of February, I was planning a shoot with Sian, a model I had worked with several times last year but who had then been out of the country for six months working. I had a couple of ideas that I really wanted to do with her, and those sets have already been posted on here - sets that would very much make a feature of the tan lines she had acquired over in the Caribbean. But I was struggling to come up with a concept shoot from all the nebulous strands of ideas that were floating around inside my brain. It's something I have always struggled with.

And then with a week to go I was tidying some boxes in my loft and stacked a few boxes of old music cassettes on top of each other, and this idea came to me in a flash, almost fully formed. I had the cassettes, I had a vintage personal stereo, I had a vintage radio/cassette player. All I would need was a pair of headphones that would add to the look.

With Sian still on the other side of the Atlantic, I only had WhatsApp with which to try to communicate my idea. I tried writing it out, but couldn't seem to find the right description, so I told her I would draw it. And I hate drawing because I am crap at it. After several attempts I gave up, imported a female outline in Photoshop, and with the use of a few photos clipped from the internet I produced the above. Fortunately Sian's reply was: "I am so down for that!".

I will be posting this set next month so please watch this space. I am also considering producing some of them as prints.
