SPACE KING EP:101 BTS PACK + wallpapers! (Patreon)

Hey guys,

Today I've enjoyed digging through our production files gathering you a BTS pack from Space King episode 1, including:

- 22 concept art archives - including early concept sketches of the cast, weapons, enemies, vehicles and more

- 25 background art images used in the toon

- The final script of the toon before we moved to production

- 6 full res, black+white and color variants of the grimdark paintings featured in the cartoon to use as desktop backgrounds!

In the script pdf you'll notice the soldiers referred to as "Star Fuckers" - this was actually the original working title for them / the series for an embarrassingly long time

As Tom had said in the directors commentary posted earlier this week, from the onset of production we were definitely possessed by that juvenile spirit of "We're gonna do whatever the fuck we want!" and being taken in by some very stupid ideas.  Thankfully greater angels prevailed, mostly.

I AM STILL PROUD of the solid 15 minutes of cock, balls and booby humor that remain, but in episode 2 we'll work on expanding the shows horizons - perhaps to pussy jokes 🤔

Also, there IS a concrete plan for the term "Star Fucker" to return in a later episode...

While I was digging this all out earlier, it was really fun rediscovering how far the show has come from the original scribbles I'd done for the characters. Very late additions were the lip rims around their grills, and simplifying the shoulders to spheres. We'd also been playing with some pretty wacky ideas for the main cast:

If it isn't obvious, those shoulders would have been a FUCKING NIGHTMARE to draw and animate, and I was out of my mind to have even entertained the idea. I also think the sphere shoulders ultimately look way more iconic, so it was a happy compromise.
