I don't read the manga but this show seems a bit overrated to me, is it only hyped because of the sexualisation or is there more to it

This is the charm but not why it's hyped. Where was JJK or DS around episode 5?I remember those shows being just as uninteresting around that time as well tbh, it's still early..... If you want the pure action won't start until the last 5 episodes this cour and all the really hyped story elements happen next cour and beyond.

@Desto Demon slayer and Jjk were really good since episode 1 consistently 🤣🤣 and this series will have only 12 eps and not much has happened other than generic plot line and talking about sex, boob grabbing and now kissing & how is this a charm? It seems like a hentai low key, if you're into this shit I won't judge you, each to there own 🤷‍♂️ but I'll carry on watching it to see where it goes.

@Ikky T I agree that this show feels overrated but I also think the same for JJK and Demon Slayer. I never read the manga for any of these 3 shows but all them have generic plot. God tier animation but everything else is pretty much shounen formula. Still not sure where the appeal to these shows are at. I don't hate them, so I'm not saying theyre bad shows. They just all seem fairly generic with similar tropes (shounen tropes). Of course, this show I still need to see more of to make a judgement but so far its not exactly living up to the hype.

The hype comes from later on as said before whether you all believe that or not or even have patients to see is up to you guys. @ikky T if that's also how you feel I'd drop it but to compare it to hentai is a stretch, I dropped DS and JJK multiple times the overall stories to those two isn't as good as CSM and not as deep at the end of the day. This all stops at the last 5 as I mentioned before and the pace picks up. Hang there if you can lol.

@Don yh I agree they're all generic but jjk & Ds still excited me weekly even though I've seen loads of animes in my lifetime but I did not hear about the manga for those 2 but with chainsaw man I've been seeing cosplays and people talking about the manga from last last few years so I was looking forward to it but so far it's overrated for me but yh God tier animation definitely brings in viewers.

Is it really fair to call a show overrated when the entire season isnt done yet? I know its an opinion but i feel like its too early to completely judge a show based on 5 episodes. Ive seen plenty of shows that started off slow( not saying thats how i feel about CSM) but ended up enjoying it in the end.

Trust me when it picks up it picks up. I also have an issue with this anime's sexualization too (Only with Denji though). I think the issue for me is more so Denji's simp moments that are the issue vs the actual sexual themes. Nothing wrong with sexual themes at the end of the day it's about how it's handled.

@Brian Wilson you have to understand in a age where everyone's attention span has been reduced to 50% of what it was combined with something being constantly overhyped they are going to expect crazy stuff right off the bat. We live in an age where trailers have mini trailers before the trailers even start remember that ahaha

It is natural to feel overhyped, the manga was not that popular at this point. The reason for the popularity of Chainsaw Man is not because of flashy battles like Demon Slayer, JJK or Solo Leveling.

and the schedule is once again proven to be a useless promise. blue lock supposely on monday after or before bleach upload? nah.... stranger things supposedly on tuesday for one week and then back to thurday the next week? nah. before yall come at me with "she's busy" or "something is wrong with the tech side of things" well then don't make promises u can't keep because that is pretty fuked up to say one thing and then not deliverd as if her supporters are stupid simple minded sheeps that don't know what a schedule is. it happens way too frequently and where tf is musoku tensei? didn't she say that musoku tensei is back and that we don't have to wait too long for the next one? it's been over a month.

yea but the problem here isn't the fact that she isn't posting but my issue is that she says one thing and then not deliver. imagine u order an item from amazon and it said that it will be delivered by tmw and then a month later u still don't have ur item. wouldn't u be frustrated? this isn't me being toxix at all, this is me giving out a criticism that is well deserve aka constructive criticism. im not hating for no reason. why would i support if i hate on her? makes no sense. i wouldn't support someone with my sole purpose to be toxic towards them. that would be extremely petty and that's not me. i just think that she should be a little bit more considerate to her supporters thats all.

I mean, he does have a point though. I've seen people comment with non "Vitriol" comments asking about many other shows she's promised on manytimes in the past and she just ignores the status of those shows for weeks/months until she decides to make a post about them. Not to mention Jami's computer supposedly has more problems than what is humanly possible for any computer to have... Sorry MULTIPLE computers since she's supposedly always getting new ones. I dunno these excuses have been happening for years now and now other reactor has this problems except for her. It's not a huge deal to me personally since I only watch her occasionally, but I am trying to be objective as possible to what I've seen constantly happen on her patreon over the past years. There is a time and place to defend and some people have legitimately been in the frey and dealing with this constantly as I want to assume you have not been.
