This series does have a lot of world-building. Not as much as some series (I think that Ascendance of a Bookworm makes that entirely the premise of their series) but certainly more than others, However the character of the world and the people within it I feel is the main appeal of the series. It makes you get attached to even the most random (and often unnamed) characters that make up the background, which will be important later. Some important things to point out. I was glad that you watched the first episode of season 2 from the beginning and while I don't fault you for skipping the beginning of episode 2 as it was recap you had missed the reminder that there indeed was an intense duel between Youm and Grucius, a fact you seem to have been distracted from judging by the comment you made after Albis put an end to it. Episode 3 (27 by the episode count) also starts with a recap without any new info, but Episode 4 by contrast contains no recap, begining more like episodes 24 and 25 with actual story prior to the OP., as does the next couple of episodes following. I hope that you'll be just as diligent with the remainder of Season 2 as you were with its start as there's a lot of information to be missed if you start automatically skipping past the OP from the start of the episode again. Finally you may have noticed Rimuru's students talking in the beginning of episode 25 about a trip they made with Tiss-sensei. That trip was shown in the OAD episodes 3 - 5. While there is no rush to get to them, those episodes are cannon and will help flesh out the story and fill in gaps in your knowledge when certain things go down, so it would be good for you to react to them sooner than later. Around the midpoint of the season, after the 11th or 12th episode (episode 35 or 36) would be the ideal time to do so for reason that will become clear when you get there. I'm glad that you continued the series despite the lack of things that challenged Rimuru-san up to this point. Now, however, I should advise you to make sure that your stock of soft and gentle tissues is good, and some throat lozenges would not be amiss either, for you'll probably need them before you know it. season 2 is much more action pack i`d say, so don`t worry its not like season 1, most of it was build up and world-building

Mjurran is mentioned once in season 1 but never shown. Mjurren was the 1 who recorded what was shown on that orb as she's been spying on Rimuru for Clayman for years anime never tells you this. Though she never set foot in the actual city.
