honestly this backstory is the reason why I always tell people the start with fate/zero instead of jumping to UBW. UBW has brilliant animation, characters you love and a story that's honestly pretty decent. However Fate/Zero portrays beautifully the utter tragedy that underlies the struggle for the grail. Every fate series tells a tragedy and watching UBW its easy to forget that. Fate/Zero wont ever let you forget lol.
