The King’s Banquet is the episode I was most hyped for!! Also I really hope your ear is okay 😔

i think saber is one who will sacrifice herself for the people while rider is one who face destruction with the people. None of them is wrong but who us to say what is right, i think what rider mean here is that what saber is doing is more like a saint or a knight rather than a king and it is a heavy burden that not a normal people will do (but what saber is doing is indeed a noble thing) .

well put! ya it's not particularly "Kingly" & plain too martyr-esque for Rider's tastes whilst Saber think it's plain her duty to shoulder & take the wrath of war & sacrifice upon herself for it's how the "King" of Knights is supposed to operate n be.. albeit Rider may have a point that it keeps her a separated "saint" of sorts from the rest of the pack of the frontline since it's a pretty extreme martyr move to one's death & to Rider.. to one's detriment of their place in the history books. the sacrificial piece versus conquer all things ideological clash!

Each of the Kings are true King's in their own time. There's not really a right or wrong. Rider is the "Great" King archetype, being beloved by his men and leading them to victory and glory. He is literally Alexander the Great, after all. Saber is a "Noble" King archetype, being one who was willing to sacrifice everything for the good of their people. And Gilgamesh is the "Divine" King archetype, who was anointed by the Gods and chosen to rule. Which is what most nobility and royalty throughout history were considered. They were what they were because of the time period they came from. Rider would be a terrible King in modern times, where people generally don't like conquest or wars. Saber would be a terrible King in Ancient times, likely being overthrown. And Gilgamesh would be a terrible King in the 1400's to 1800's, where monarchies were regularly being limited in power or overthrown.

if u haven't watch charlotte can u pls react to it ?

SalmonYu

React to the opening before the season is over...plz?

smf_frieza

ISNT there just two seasons though? Shouldn’t I just watch them together. Also I still can’t believe there are only 2 ep left of this season 😩

SalmonYu

You can definitely do that, I just think it would make more sense to watch the op/ed before the season ends lol. And yeah, UBW has about the same amount of episodes, but IIRC UBW has long episodes on ep 0, ep1, and ep 12 for around 47 mins(watch ep 0 first btw) After that it's just the 3 HF movies, which is about 2 hrs each.

Rxonas

it's just first cour/part of zero that ends in few episodes. Just so you don't think it's over and jump straight into UBW xD. There's still 12 more episodes of Fate/Zero after this 1st cour.

- Saber, King Arthur, is an ideal, a Saint; it's interesting that you bring up Jesus, because while we praise His life, it's a really hard sell to get someone to agree to emulate that kind of self-sacrificial, martyred life. Saber attempted the same with chivalry. They each served and set themselves below their followers. I actually kinda get it. Just cause Artoria was a king doesn’t mean she had to always be selfless. She never developed any selfish desires of her own and it led to everyone calling her inhuman, and her knights turning on her. Rider, Iskandar, is a true King, a human with flaws and ambitions who proves that great things are attainable by regular people with drive, and thus he inspires and elevates his followers. In serving himself AND his followers, uniting their purposes, they achieve a bond that makes the sum greater than its parts

The King's Banquet is one of my favorite episodes of Zero. Just seeing the 3 kings from different eras talk about their ideals about being a king was remarkable. Also Iskandar is the GOAT (My fav character from Zero)
