This is my 2nd favorite anime after FairyTail. Same reason as Fairy Tail with me watching it at the right time when i was going through hard times and it made me feel better.

To be fair it's difficult because it's a pre-existing word that is pronounced differently in different languages. The way you pronounce it in this video is the American pronunciation and how I've always been told to pronounce it (even though I'm English), it's not a wrong way to pronounce the word but it's not how they pronounce it in Japanese. The Japanese pronounce it the way I assume you'll be pronouncing it from now on so that became the official name/pronunciation of the anime.

the wish was that he wanted ugo to be his friend. he didn't "wish for a friend" wasn't really a wish but more like a request. it transition to him saying "please be my friend" to alibaba. he said "please be my friend" to ugo as well. also.. besides the name and the egypt atmosphere... it has nothing to do with the disney aladdin.

Well they have a similar source material with both coming from the story of Aladdin (and Alibaba) and Djins and Genies are similar too
