I didn't like gotou at first but you gotta remeber the first thing he said to her was wanna come to my place!!! Her being a virgin was obviously caught off guard lol and she's not swooping in cuz he got his act together she said she liked him from before, she's acting on it now cuz she's wondering if she lost her chance, not cuz he seemingly is worthy for her now, but I can see the ill feelings you have about her cuz I felt the same but I think the show sets it up that way for the viewer.

uh no i can understand the feeling of "oh idk if i wanna move this fast" or "i dont think this is the right time" but u dont bs someone saying "oh I got someone im seeing" and then 2 days later be like "nvm i was kiddin lol". You give it to them straight up, tell them to give you some time or you not ready to move that fast or whatever. whichever they choose is up to them. her plan was literally to make him give up on her for the time being but swoop in if another girl was trying to get him. if this was real life and a girl or guy said they "felt" it wasnt the right time out of pure instinct i would straight up tell them nvm i dont want someone who moves on pure instinct without consulting the other party cuz its just not gonna work in the long run. hence yoshidas idea of telling her that he wont be the one to make the move this time was right bcuz if she wants him, she needs to ask HIM out this time after rejecting him the first time out of "I got a feeling". only then can they start on equal grounds. sure she doesnt look as bad after this explanation but on no grounds should she have done that. that's plain manipulation no matter what her intention is

I don’t think Gotou has to have bad motives to suddenly admit she likes him after lying about being in a relationship. It doesn’t seem that she’s trying to get with him now that he’s better maintained, since she talked about liking him for a long time but her intuition telling her she shouldn’t go out with him at that moment (probably some weird “So you could meet Sayu” intuition). I mean, in Fairy Tail, Jellal recently just did the exact same thing about lying about being in a relationship, and we all know how much you are shipping them lol.

couldn't she just be lying w/that "oh I actually liked you for a long time tho" seems rather convenient to me lol. especially since how that can't be proven or not, hard to trust someone's words here that already lied to you about their situation to begin with

So apparently the anime will cover all of the light novel, which ended today btw, it's nice to know that it's not gonna be one of those one-off animes that just introduces the story and forces you to have to delve into the light novel or manga to know how it ends. There may be differences and cut content but there will be a definitive ending at the very least.
