haha the "indirect kiss" anime trope is so over used in anime (sharing drinks) but it never gets old!

Disagree with the never gets old part. I think one reason why animes like Horimiya are so extremely popular is because people are indeed tired of cliche tropes. It´s refreshing and the series that do have the balls to not be too cliche get rewarded by a very positive feedback and ratings.

While they are definitely making fun of him. Paisen by itself is afaik just slang and not inherently used to make fun of somebody. Though since it's very informal and lax it would be seen as rude if you aren't close with that Senpai.
