Dub. It’s the best English dub I’ve seen in anime, it’s a western nior show so its really fit really well.

Watched cowboy bebop in dub and you really can't go wrong with it, it had one of the better dubs I've seen in most anime, and I usually hate dubs.

I'm actually shocked people have actually voted for the sub. All of my Japanese friends prefer watching the English Dub w/ Japanese Subs rather than Japanese Dub lol

Please for the love of all that is holy do dubbed. Please. I never say that but this is one of the few anime I BEG people to watch dubbed. Watching subbed for this is a crime.

I usually don't watch dub, but this is one of the few that actually has a good dub together with baccano

I'll say dub, if you think you can do it without talking over dialogue. Perhaps have the dub with subs/captions. The Cowboy Bebop dub is regarded as one of the best English dubs ever produced, and one of few anime the majority believe the dub is better, so if there's any time you should do a dub reaction, it's now.

sub is not winning its almost draw but it also confusing for me, I watched first 5 min of the dub and the only thing that didn't sound so cringey was the three old guys at the bar lol

It's not close in the comments either. I mean this is a show with various accents and ethnicities. If you're an English speaker why wouldn't a good dub portray those accents and quirks better and more recognizably than Japanese actors.

I'm sure many subs don't have English as their native language, such as myself, so the language choice doesn't really matter that much. And I can't speak for everyone of them, but I guess those accents might not sound that different to us.

A lot of what he did seemed purposefully western-based so this just seems like one of those where dub isn't unreasonable and likely preferable. English for better or worse is a more standard international language. But you're also right that I made an assumption about where the patrons come from (if your comment was a response to me; seemed like it might have been).

Dub 100%. I've never even heard of someone watching the sub. Dub is definitely the standard experience.

I generally prefer to watch all anime in sub, but for cowboy bebop I don't mind either. Maybe watching the first episode of both versions and choosing the one you prefer is better.

Dub. No reason to watch it in sub. Some people will vote sub because they hate any dub no matter what. Bebop dub is great.

i watched it in dub and it was awesome. I personally like english dubs unless it involves characters screaming their techniques when they fight...e.g. dragonball , OP , Naruto, Bleach, FT ...then it always loses it's magic and becomes weird

As I mentioned on the other post I prefer the Dub. I honestly thought more people did. Although it is winning right now (Dubbed version) in the poll I thought it would be less close than it is but there is a bit of time and it seems from the comments that Dub is preferred. Well if anything the ability to vote is much appreciated. :)

She said she'd ended in 4 hours. And that was a while ago. So I'm glad that dub won. It really is a fantastic dubbing of the anime. So many fans always refer to Cowboy Bebop in terms of how good a dub can be.

Be sure to turn the volume up if you do dub please. subs are how I was able to follow but it does not matter to me. I have seen cowboy bebop 3 times and i love the anime. One of the best ever

Not all dubs are equal, Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and Death Note have one of the best dubs in anime history.

I have a theory on why so many people say they only watch subs when they actually don’t. It’s because they’re so self conscious that they’ll take any opportunity to let people know that they can read. Simple and sad

For most its because native english speakers find the english dubs too cheesy. The same goes with native Japanese speakers, they say that the japanese voices are too cheesy and that english is cooler. Since most never natively learned the language, that group of people find the opposite language to have a bigger sounding impact, because they dont know the true nuances of those languages.

This is so true - only a few dubs haven't come across as cringe-worthy cheesy to me, and even then they usually still have those moments. For example the My Hero dub is pretty good. Something just sounds cooler about the japanese voices, more natural, even though I don't understand it. Maybe it's because the context of what's being said is so often unbelievable - paired coming from an animation it almost breaks immersion hearing 'real' voices you can understand. Hearing a language you don't understand, and processing what is being said with text sort of keeps everything you're seeing within a 'fake' context that is easier to palate. It's a tricky thing to explain but that's sort of how I think of it because I've always found English anime hard to watch.
