You mentioned Earthbound and Lisa in your vid but I don't think you mentioned playing Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass? If you have, what did you think?

Anonymous

Did you ever play any of the Yume Nikki fangames like .flow and yume 2kki? And what’s your opinion on Yume Nikki and Ib? Those are like my comfort games I spent hours on those during high school⭐️💕

I'm a very big fan of rpgmaker games and was just curious, do you have any particular ones (besides this one, of course) that stick out to you as particularly noteworthy or just plain enjoyable?

Anonymous

What's your favorite fusion of horror and comedy, in anime or in other media?

Anonymous

What were all the games shown in the beginning? I saw Lisa, OFF, Delta Rune, Celeste, FNAF, and Ib?

Anonymous

This is only tangentially related, so it's a stretch, but what do you think of touhou? Honestly I'm just really into touhou right now and wanted to hear someone talk about touhou 030

I know you only briefly mentioned this but, what's your favorite Kikuo song/songs and as a musician, what do you like about his discography from a music compositional and lyrical standpoint and if it had any influence in your music/music tastes? Kaleidoscope, It's Another Maze There, and You're a Useless Child are my personal faves

Elias Rosner

God, Freeware rpgs takes me back. How afraid are you of tanking your computer with viruses when searching these games out?

I'm honestly a big fan of vgperson's work so it was really neat to see her namedropped here over a great game I hadn't even gone anywhere near. Do you have any opinions on anything else she's translated?

Anonymous

seconding this! i'm particularly curious about any thoughts on End Roll, as well as vgperson's own game Libretta

With games like Earthbound and Lisa being mentioned, have you found any ripples of their influence in other games? Similarly, what about Omori - I have yet to play it but it seems tangentially related to the kind of game that the others seem to be?

What are some of your favorite horror games for spooky season? Favorite games to play with others (groups or with a s.o?)

What did you think about how the Angels of Death was adapted into an anime? Do you think it's possible that other RPG maker games could be adapted into anime and would they benefit from them being adapted?

Anonymous

I know there are other ones than AoD but if there may be others that were not adapted yet :)

this is a silly question based on a throwaway line in this, but I'm curious about what in antiporno didn't work for you. I really loved the film and found myself comparing it to revolutionary girl utena quite a bit, but i can definitely see how it could fail to connect with someone. like lmao, it's definitely a film that made me go "im not sure if this is extremely feminist or extremely fucking sexist but it feels true to my own experiences somehow"

You ever scrounge the web for resources for a game or something you wanna make? That RPG maker rant reminded me on I I'd browse sites like SENTIVE . net and other sites like it that hosted royalty free bgm loops, menu sounds, and sound effects, hoping to use em in a flash animation or game.

Do you have any hot takes or strong opinions on Undertale and Deltarune? It seemed like you might have from some passing remarks in this video. Great work.

Favorite Movies?

Any thoughts on The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories? Also Deadly Premonition? Though not outright similar, still quite unique gaming experiences in their own right.

You briefly mentioned that most big name indie games are being made by small teams as apposed to individuals. Do you think the viral 0 budget game is going away at all? Are there any elements specific to tiny projects like this that you particularly enjoy. Kinda off topic but I played and loved Milk inside a bag of milk on your recommendation, and am super hyped for the sequel. Sorry for the long and broad question.

Ive been pllaying through deadly premonition for the first time. If it stays this charming it may be in the top 3 games of all time for me.

After watching this video and rewatching your Lain video it seems like both Lain and Re:Kinder share an unflinching honesty when it comes to mental illness and are also kind of a hard sell, not just narratively but also in their format and aesthetics - rpgmaker assets and unpolished gameplay for Re:Kinder, a long series of Japanese-language audio recordings for Lain. Do you think these two games are so effective in the way they discuss and depict mental illness and trauma specifically *because* of how inaccessible they are, or is that just a part of their charm? Could you imagine a game or any other piece of media being equally effective while also being easier to get into? Also this is way off-topic but what is your favourite era of King Crimson ^-^

As terrible of a program as RPG maker is tittles made with it seems to have had (if briefly) an explosion of main stream popularity. Why do you think this is? Other "maker games" like little big planet, dreams and even roblox do have some surprisingly well made content made with them from time to time. However the games made in these programs never really seem to catch on outside of their respective community's. Always being seen as just part of the maker game itself rather then its own stand alone tittle. What do you think let RPG maker games get as popular as they got and how were they able to break out and be seen as their own tittles rather then just part of RPG maker?

What are your favorite examples of "Dudes Rock Cinema"?

Soneël Neumann

Speaking of obscure game titles- ever played pathologic? Big youtubers have made it much more widely known since I first got wind of it, but it still is one of those games that almost no one has played due to how hostile to its players it is.

Marcy Coral

Have you heard of the artist Mira Ong Chua? Her comic Vampire Blood Drive is super cute and might scratch an itch that Vlad Love failed to. Her entire body of work is all really funny, touching lesbian stories.

Loved the amazing video!!! Do you have any other favorite games from this sorta subgenre of horror/rpg maker games? And also do you think you'd ever do a video on silent hill?

How does Re:Kinder mechanically handle adjusting the plot to the possibility of any party member dying at (almost) any time? Normally I’d expect that to make plotting really hard; does it get away with it by being short and somewhat abstract, or are there other tricks that it uses to make it work?

i know at one point you hinted at doing a Haruhi Suzumiya video on Twitter, do you still plan to do it? its one of my all time fav series and i think its a shame it gets somewhat overlooked nowadays considering its impact on otaku culture when it was more relevant. still i love your videos, thanks!
