This video just made me make a Patreon just to support you. This is genuinely the best essay I've ever seen breaking down early anime culture in the west and how, yeah, a lot of stuff we once loved will probably be a trash fire when you go back to look at it again, but I think there's totally worth in the way it made you feel. I mean, I can call my younger self cringe for having Diclonius ocs and all that, and it's true, but honestly, that act of creation is something really worth a lot to me even today. I think everyone should view their old cringy anime ocs and fanfic and whatever else as something that was the first step to making them who they are, and not something to be embarrassed about. This is a really, really good video, thank you for making it and doing what you do. (A small edit to mention Elfen Lied literally still has such an impact on me now in my 20s that when I was on the hunt for music to use in a D&D campaign, Lilium immediately came to mind. It's wild to me how much objectively kind of bad series have an impact on my works today, lol.)
