love the shoutout to matsukawa (the middle from seijoh who hinata remembers as his most infuriating blocker), the fact that he is somewhat forgettable makes the writing all the better IMO. Seijoh as a whole seems very forgettable as the series goes on (from a skill perspective) but this match has little gems like this where they are contrasted favorably against Inarizaki. Seijoh's solid foundation and good technical volleyball let them be a perennial powerhouse despite a lack of the highest end talent, and alot of teams at nationals could use their consistency. from missed serves to sloppy receives or somewhat unstable blocks, those kinds of things don't happen with seijoh, even if their high points are less so. i think objectively no one shown in the anime thus far could challenge Tendo (the guess monster from shiratorizawa) as the most intimidating single blocker, but there is nothing Hinata could do to block like tendo right now in the middle of this match. Instead he found a solution that didn't rely on his physique or his technical ability, but instead relied on strategy, to take away the attacker's options to make the job as easy as possible for nishinoya. Sorry for the essay, god I just love it.
