"The Battle at the Garbage Dump: Part 1 - The Prelude of the Garbage to Come". That's what I'm calling it. It has a nice ring to it, and shorter than most Light Novel titles. . . Anyways. Yeah, it's begun! And the only thing scarier that a cat stalking its prey is Hinata's serial killer stare.

I've completely forgotten the feeling of watching this for the first time. Seeing Hinata adapt on the fly like this is really great, seeing where he is currently. Kenma is also really interesting. He subtly does things that change the tides of the entire match, and doing it quietly, and he and Hinata's interactions are also interesting. They almost idolize each other for skills they lack themselves, Hinata's enthusiasm and can-do attitude towards the game, and kenmas ability to make decisions on the fly to support his team

I'll just echo what the others are saying a bit. It's interesting how much my opinion of the characters changed over time. I started out strongly disliking Oikawa, Kenma, and Tsukki, honestly being kinda indifferent towards Hinata, and just sleeping on a few other characters. I don't "regret" that per se, but obviously the way I feel about them now in no way resembles that. So... I guess what I'm trying to say is, even if your journey takes you to a place where you (*gasp*) hate my favorites like Suga and Kuroo, or end up loving-them-then-hating-then-loving-again, the reasons why would be interesting to hear. Language nerd point: I think I've worked out what my issue with the subtitles is, haha. Basically, in Japanese you omit words that can be understood from context, but in English, // can't just get rid of. because sounds weird. so, have to decide and put in, and usually easy and no problem, but sometimes maybe disagree with loudmouth Canadian. // Two examples: 17:50 Kuro word-for-word: "and directions, perfect." They had him saying Kenma "take[s] directions perfectly," but what he meant was Kenma is good at *giving* directions to others. (Yes, technically, he never says aloud whose directions are on-point, but c'mon people...) 20:38 Ukai word-for-word: "but now is chance to find a way around this." They had him saying "this is *MY* chance to find a solution," and I guess that's possible, but that seems really out-of-character with his coaching style. My preference: "this is a good chance to figure this out." In other words, leave it open to interpretation. Basically, what you said at 24:05. It could be Hinata's chance to figure it out himself, or Kageyama's, or the team's, or indeed Ukai's. But he doesn't specify whose chance it is.

Idk if it's just me but I like basically all the players so far. Or at least I don't find a character negative so far. Maybe I'm not as into Takeda yet you could say, but even then I am indifferent... So hearing it all gets better has me excited!
