Failure can be damaging. Be sure to remind yourself though, those who never fail, never grow. And most importantly, remind yourself that the homies always got your back. Asahi won't be forgetting that any time soon.

Sorry for the one day delay on HiKyoo this week, I have been feeling unwell, hopefully it didn't show too much in this recording. Take care of yourselves!

One of my favorite episodes of season 1! Even though it does have the longest hanging toss as both suga and Asahi have mental monologues :P hope you start feeling better soon!

Your reaction to Shimada calling for the ball--"huh?? Get out of here, not you"--was great levity, haha. 5:15 (Daichi's speech to Asahi) I shared your surprise. I'd never seen those subtitles before, and they're not teeeeeechnically off, but they sound forced and unempathetic, and in particular the line "those things don't matter to me," Daichi *never* says (and doesn't mean) "to me." (Ugh... I'm trying and failing to explain this succinctly without a Japanese grammar lesson no one wants, but...) Basically, how I would've translated Daichi's lines there is, "You're probably thinking like 'I can't make up for ditching them for a whole month,' or 'it'll be awkward if I come,' or 'they won't take me back,' but none of that matters when it comes to deciding whether to come back. The only thing you need to decide is whether YOU want to keep playing. If you do, that's enough of a reason to be here." 10:19 I know it's a little cheesy, but I really like the solo crow in the background taking flight. That'll be a theme throughout the show. "Golden Week" is the first week of May in Japan. There are a bunch of holidays that happen to be packed closely together, so school gets the week off, and a bunch of people take vacations. For high school sports, they'll often use the time like Karasuno does for teambuilding and a sort of "sleepover training session" called "gasshuku" (合宿). The Golden Week gasshuku is one of those defining memories of high school for club members (even school band).

Also, yes, thank you for pointing out that the crushing loss to Date Tech wasn't just about Asahi. Suga and Noya were clearly hurt, too, and even Tanaka and Daichi in their own ways. Hurting and healing are group things. (Last nerd comment, I swear: "Date Tech," as in Date Masamune, the legendary one-eyed samurai and defender of the north)
