Aoba Johsai are better sports than I was expecting. I was gonna talk a lot of smack, but now I can't. Oh well. Maybe this new Oikawa guy will change that?

Yeeah, the Great King is here :D I actually really like the both-sided taunting at the beginning. I've seen it so many times before when the main premise is like: "Oh poor main characters, getting sh*t on from all sides without the ability to strike back..." Not here though. Shows that they are all the same. They are just acting like most high schoolers would. Honestly, for someone with communication issues, Kageyama is surprisingly good at giving pep talks. He's spitting facts and it often helps. I still think they did Oikawa dirty with his first appearance. In his first panel in the manga, he looks like a normal guy, kinda sweet even. Anime showed him as a sort of jerk straight away, which I don't think gives justice to his character. But that could be just my personal thing.

I get that this is your first time seeing it, but you might have trouble convincing some people that you haven't taken sneak peaks given some of your lines about Kageyama in particular (8:08), haha. It is spooky sometimes. Then again, I guess you also predicted Hinata would make a great serve and turn things around... Random notes: - I'm not sure, but I think Episodes 2 and 3 might be the only ones so far where Hinata didn't take a ball to the face, haha. - Pretty sure no one in their right mind would care about this, but it's not like I'm fooling anybody at this point, haha: the translators called Kindaichi's nickname "turnip-head," but that's just because the actual vegetable, a "rakkyou" (https://hirokoskitchen.com/2017/06/limit-to-4-5-bulbs-a-day/), would be super unfamiliar in the West. They're really popular in Japan as a topping for curry. - I think you've got it already, but the "s" in "Aoba Johsai" is pronounced /s/. If it had a /z/ sound, "johzai" means a pill, as in like, Dr. Mario.

Haha I’m sure I misread plenty of stuff too. If I am onto something, that just reassures me to say my thoughts as they come, like I am doing now! 😁 Thanks again for more fun translation info! 🙏🏻
