I think Stark is just raw, pure physical stats - I don't know though. His Lightning strike attack, if you go back and look, his attack actually goes off the moment he opens his mouth and before he says the attack - it's THAT fast. Brilliant execution on the animation. You see the same attack when he fights the dragon. It could be magical, but I don't think it is. The axe has to be magical or that thing would've disintegrated long ago. The mage battles are so awesome, since it's more or less a battle of the mind, which ever mind is better at adapting is stronger. And super crisp animation.

Absolutely amazing animation for the fight scenes and simply throughout the show (like Stark putting on his coat) - huge respect to the animators. I also really love Linnie's magic and fighting too, it was really great to watch. As I mentioned a couple of episodes ago, my theory on Stark's lightning strike is that it's a physical expression of magic - as it's mentioned that Linnie reads people's mana as they fight - so perhaps what little mana warriors have can be used to aid them to perform great physical feats. Lastly, I had a good chuckle about your idea of Frieren decapitating Aura, knowing that the actual end to the fight is just one satisfying extra step from that.
