Knov does care for Palm a lot, she is his underling. Though I'm not exactly sure how you understood that he liked her back the way she likes him. But maybe he does and I'm dumb.

don't think they said anything about it but the picture they used of palm when Knov is thinking about her, maybe he does think about her in a different way. Unless the author says otherwise probably up to the viewers discretion

Well, he does seem to hint at things in ways that can be misinterpreted at times or could easily be overlooked. Like Killua's hypnosis. Some speculated it, but most thought it was too farfetched.
