I mean sure you can argue that she didn't have to see it to believe it, but that's because as the audience we've seen the white walkers since ep 1. To anyone who's not in the nights watch it sounds ridiculous. Also it's not her fault that Viserion died, it's Jons.

Until recently, even the people from the Night's Watch refused to believe in the White Walkers and the army of the dead. You cannot blame Dany for being a little skeptical. I am not even sure many of the northern lords that just named Jon King in the North truly believe that the White Walkers really exist. 🤔 Also, Rhaegar's marriage to Elia Martell was an arranged political alliance. He was forced to marry her by his father the Mad King. Actually, Rhaegar was originally "supposed" to marry Cersei Lannister (!!!), but King Aerys was jealous of Tywin and wanted to spurn him, so he made a pact with Dorne and left the Lannisters hanging. BTW, Rhaegar was already dead when the Lannister's army sacked King's Landing and Tywin ordered the murder of Elia and her children as revenge for the slight. I know you said you are trying not to be judgey, LOL, and there is nothing wrong with that, but keep in mind that you cannot judge marriages in this show's world, based on late 20th century morals.
