I'll finish this later today, but first, I wanted to say, I agree, that the orcs in this show have looked almost unimpressive, at least compared to the original films. I guess Jackson has spoiled us🤷🏻‍♂️. Also, you look great as a brunette!

Thanks Tobwan!, and yeah.....i guess more expensive doesn't mean better

Tobywan720

I mean, the show is impressive to look at. I guess they invested all that money into other things, like Numenor (or getting trendy, short haircuts for the elves HAHA). Moria and the elf city that Galadriel is from is impressive too. I also have a feeling we'll see more expensive settings. I like the show, but it looks like the orcs aren't where they poured money into

That ending was beautiful...probably one of my favorite moments in this series so far. I liked this episode. Unlike the other ones, I actually felt invested in every minute of it. You've probably looked this up by now, so sorry if I'm telling you what you already know, but a queen regent is someone (usually a spouse or other kin) who has the power of a queen, bestowed to them, temporarily, by the true king or queen, in order to rule in the king or queen's stead, if they go on a "hiatus," a trip, is sick (like in here), or something like that. A queen *regnant* would be the name for an actual queen, who inherited the throne by birthright. Also, did I hear that correctly? Are we meant to think that the old man was implying that MeteorMan is Sauron?

Agree 100% about the pace and enjoying the ride - I laughed at the googling, but truthfully I didn't even know you could take a train from LA to NYC, LOL - In any case, I like that the show is taking its time establishing the different peoples and their customs and letting us learn more about some of the characters. Also, the show runners have the advantage of having been signed on for three seasons already - it is good to be Amazon, I guess - so they don't need to pile everything into the first season.

On the episode itself, just a few comments: - Point for Tobywan who properly guessed Adar was a corrupted elf. 😃 - Continuing to add fuel to the theory that Halbrand might be Sauron (?). "Identify what it is that your opponent most fears, give them a means of mastering it, so that YOU can master THEM." 😲 I am afraid Galadriel might be getting played... YIKES! - Seeding up Isildor's tendency to make decisions without considering some of the consequences. 😲 - Queen Regent is a title. Miriel is the Queen Regent because her father the King is not able to perform his duty. It is like saying: you are holding the seat while the sovereign is absent or the heir to the throne is too young, etc. - Easter egg: We got a quick peek at Narsil, the sword of Elendil!!! (46:25) The shards of Narsil will later be re-forged into the sword that Elrond gives to Aragorn in The Return of the King 😃

Regarding meteor man being Sauron- I actually didn’t see it that way I thought it was more like a bad omen type of thing but who knows! I guess we’ll see! Thanks for clearing up the queen regent thing guys. I guess that’s another English word of the day for me.

Calu

Not sure, but I think the old man meant the meteor was an omen or a sign that Sauron was back.

Tobywan720

😲whoa...I did not think about Halbrand's quote like that. You could be into something to there

Calu

I am sort of neutral towards the look of the orcs. I find them looking quite similar to the LOTR trilogy movies (?) - much better than the CGI-heavy Hobbit trilogy ones. Also, Adar's look reminded me so much of Benjen as Coldhands! - I think he kept the same scars. LOL

Calu

Yeah, might be a little bit too on the nose, and I don't know of course, but what Galadriel fears the most is the return of Sauron, and he is very eager to help her get an army to fight him... maybe an alliance of men and elves and dwarves are going to need "something or somethings" (a weapon or weapons!!!) more powerful to defeat Him... 😲
