Episode 3 is here and things are taking a big step up!  I'm really enjoying this series now, can't wait for the next one!

Yep that is THE Isildur! Which, I would guess means that the show is supposed to take place around 3000 years before LOTR. It's a little hard to know for certain, because the show is taking a lot of creative liberty, but I mean, he has a father named Elendil, so my best guess is that he is him. I'm excited to see who "Adar" is, too! I read that there isn't mention of an Adar in Tolkien's writings. I kind of doubt that he's Sauron, but it's possible. I also saw some speculating that's he's just a corrupted elf (which doesn't seem like it would warrant that cliffhanger though), or one of Galadriel's brother's. I do like the idea that he's Sauron though, rebuilding his power and influence.

HE IS NOT UGLY!! But maybe being a mom of a vicious beast like Billie, I get to find that adorable. :> I mean, I’ve said it before. I always thought that if I could be a JRPG character, I can definitely see myself as a BeastMaster and I would want to tame all the beasts in the universe! From the most ferocious to the most elegant. <3

OMG I literally thought of this just now but what if he’s Elrond’s brother?? The elf who found Numeron. I think his name was Elros?? Yes, it was Elros! It would make sense, since you mentioned corrupted Elf!

hm I guess he never shows his vicious side to the camera then, but then the smallest dogs are usually the most vicious in my experience

You are right Tobywan, it could be Sauron himself, but that feels a bit too obvious to me. My best guess is Adar might end up being one of the Nazgul - that glove made me think of the King of Agmar. 🤔

I like that idea! That would definitely introduce a lot more drama if it was Elrond's brother! Although, I think Elros and Elrond were twins? And Adar is being played by the guy who plays Benjen Stark on GoT, so I'm not sure

I believe Elros has long been dead. He, and his twin brother Elrond were half-elves and as such, were given a choice. Elrond chose to stay with the elves and lived a long life. Elros chose to join the humans - in the words of movie Arwen: "I choose a mortal life" - and thus became mortal. The Numenorians are the descendants of Elros.

I agree. Although some men could have been corrupted before the rings even existed. I am just trying to figure out who those 9 kings will be. I mean, this Adar - Benjen Stark BTW!!! 😃 - could end up being one of them. My other candidate is Halbrand, who could also end up being Sauron himself! I am just enjoying the questions and the guessing game. 😁

Hmmm...so Halbrand would be Amazon's equivalent of Annatar... interesting. Maybe. Is Annatar from the Similarion, and so Amazon maybe can't use that?

Yep. I think the biggest clue was how interested he was in joining the Smith's Guild in Numenor 😲... Plus also, he is a good-looking charmer with - as Snax mentioned - some serious "anger" issues... Who knows? Maybe? LOL
