Episode 1- So far ok, but lots of setting and the pacing seems deliberate. I think that for shows like this with so much material, we won’t really know how good it is until a handful of episodes in at least. Who is the comet dude???

37:15 Right?? Haha when Elrond said that, I think I audibly raised an eyebrow 😂 Yeah I thought it was review bombed. I'm not sure if it was anymore. It just wasn’t great. At least for me, it failed to do what a first episode is supposed to do: captivate. I guess to an extent it did, but I really wasn’t invested in almost any of the characters. Even Galadriel, the main character, seems pretty bland in here. Granted it wasn't absolutely terrible. It was underwhelming though. It's probably too early to make this statement, but it just goes to show, that having the most expensive show doesn't always mean much. I hope I'm proven wrong though. MeteorMan is definitely someone to keep an eye on though, I think.

Calu

I DID like this episode - I watched the first two episodes back to back, so maybe that is influencing my opinion (?) - The visuals were STUNNING - CGI and all - and the score was really moving. I thought the actress that plays Galadriel did a really good job of channeling Cate Blanchet and towing the line between duty and obsession. BTW, the elves have ALWAYS been a little weird - these people are thousands of year old, so they are not prone to overly dramatic outbursts. Like you said, we need a few more episodes to let the story and the characters develop. In any case, I am very excited to get a chance to be back in this world.
