This is one of my favorite episodes from the first season. Some of the earlier first season episodes I sometimes get mixed up on the order. But this one and another upcoming on stick out in my mind the most. Have a great day and weekend! 😊

So glad you're enjoying it so much. Before the first ep you said something about Kingpin in Hawkeye perhaps being a different version. This (and the other Netflix shows) were produced by Marvel Entertainment (along with Agents of SHIELD on ABC) and were all intended to fit within the MCU. Mention in the first episode of "The Incident" and Urich the journalist's framed article about The Battle of New York both are referring to the invasion in The Avengers. That movie kicked off most of the supplemental content like the Netflix shows. With the creation of Disney+, they decided all TV stuff will from now on be a bit more close to mainline continuity and only now have things with the Marvel Entertainment stuff started to come into play. But yes as far as all of us know, this is our Daredevil from No Way Home and this is our same Fisk from Hawkeye, with 10-15 years between.

100% What Fawks said. There was a wave of Marvel TV after Avengers (2012) from Agents of Shield to shows like Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, Marvels the Inhumans, and one of my favourite shows that very underrated Marvel's Runaways. Agents of Shield's started out very much connected to the MCU but over the 7 Seasons it ventured out into it's own little bubble so we're not so what's canonical and what's not canon. Marvels the Inhumans pretty much failed with no one really watching it so no one really cares about that and nothing about it really connects to the MCU besides the fact it features The Inhumans a very important group of people from the comic. Cloak and Dagger 100% fits into the MCU canon and so can Runaways as well. It's just a matter of Marvel actually addressing these shows like they did with Daredevil for example bringing Matt and Fisk into the MCU pretty much makes Daredevil canonical to the MCU along with the other shows like Jessica Jones, Iron Fisk, Punisher, Luke Cage etc. So if Marvel were to address characters from these other shows like Runaways then they'll be regarded as canon. So to me I personally look at all these shows as canon to the MCU until Marvel tells me overwise.

I’m very happy to join you in watching this for the first time. As much as I want to I won’t jump ahead, I’ll watch as you watch. Members of the A-team knew what was coming when Foggy said, “Who doesn’t like dogs?” The guy asking for his Attorney gave me John Doe vibes. Too soon? sorry Kingpin finally appears! I knew more of him than DD, even before the 2003 movie. Fits the bill immediately. See you next week for more!! Take care of yourself, Addie!! Hi there, Ollie!!

It doesn't make this show canon, it just makes the characters canon, but this is most probably a different earth in the multiverse, as the Fisk we saw in Hawkeye isn't this Fisk

Rich

sorry, none of those are cannon. Karen and Foggy are not even in the MCU version of Daredevil

This episode had my favorite introduction to a character ever. Just forget for a second that you've seen Fisk in Hawkeye. The amount of fear and tension surrounding him, and he's only been referenced as "an employer". So many people, even criminals themselves, are petrified of him. They won't even say his name. Then, after a borderline psychopathic assassin kills himself because he was afraid of Fisks wrath simply over saying his name, all of this leads to an art gallery. And a beautiful piano melody plays over it, soft and gentle. And Fisk is simply silently staring at a painting, acting very shy and reserved it seems, saying this painting makes him feel alone. It's such a terrifying feeling, almost Iike you should feel bad for him or be drawn to him, but you also know this man is capable of such terrible things. It's one of my favorite moments because of how subtle it is. Okay, I'm done gushing 😅 Can't wait for you to continue the show, Addie!

It's the same Fisk. If Bruce and Thor from Ragnarok are the same from before, then wild tonal shifts don't indicate a different character. And if your entire argument regarding Fisk in Hawkeye is a cardoor, he was always freakishly strong but a lot can happen in 15 years to enhance him. And you know he has the means to find enhancement.

I love how much you're enjoying this show Addie :) This was the episode where I realized that even without any of the superhero stuff, I would HAPPILY watch a straight-up legal drama centered on Matt, Foggy and Karen. The writing and the acting is just that good. As for the nature of his abilities, yes his other senses function WAY beyond normal levels. In the comics, the chemicals on the truck from that opening scene were radioactive, and that's what caused his senses to be so enhanced. Pretty sure in this show they were just labeled as "hazardous", but I'm pretty sure the intent is the same thing happened as in the comics Don't worry, they'll go into more detail about how he does what he does, I think starting with Episode 5.
