Here's the full length reaction to Se7en! This movie was FANTASTIC, but it's definitely one that I probably won't watch again. The performances were all phenomenal, and it was fun to figure things out with the detectives as they were learning more about the murders. Definitely dark and gruesome, but 100% worth the watch! Enjoy!

I still hate how so many people replace the 'v' in the title with an actual '7'. It was just a stylistic choice. Also, if you didn't know, Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow were dating in real life when this film was made. More great non-horror films you probably won't feel compelled to watch again 😏: "Taxi Driver," "American History X," "Requiem for a Dream," "No Country for Old Men," and perhaps also "Whiplash" (not a dark film, but incredibly intense).

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 Congratulations on making it through this movie. 👏 It's been awhile since I've seen this movie. All I remember about it is that it's got Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, and Qwenth Paltrow in it. And I remember bits and pieces of the movie itself. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. I very highly recommend the 2013 movie "Now You See Me" and it's 2016 sequel "Now You See Me 2" both with Morgan Freeman. And for Brad Pitt I highly recommend the 1997 movie "The Devil's Own". Have a great day today! 😊

Hear, hear. I would also suggest The Devil's Own (1997) because it even has Harrison Ford in it. And I would also suggest Shakespeare In Love (1998) for more Gweneth Paltrow, as well as Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (1987) with R. Lee Ermey.

That was exactly what I thought would happen. There are some movies that you should watch at least one time. It’s not a lot of fun, but it is a great movie.

The death involving Lust is gruesome for one reason. We didn’t see it physically but much worse, we were left to use our imagination. With that, it’ll continue to haunt us on our own. Brilliant film in the fact that it was something beyond expectations and beyond any hint of predictability. It’s likely why Kevin Spacey’s face was not shown until it was AND the fact that his name wasn’t in the opening credits. “What’s in the box?!” Everyone uses this line when a box is remotely hinted at. You said it twice on curiosity alone, before the secret was revealed. You did it, you made it through like a champ!! Take care of yourself, Addie!! Say hi to Ollie for us all!!

This is probably the BEST reaction to “Se7en” I’ve seen yet. And I say this NOT out of some sadistic enjoyment to see someone squirm. Addie’s reaction was as genuine as it gets, and that’s why I’m here. I love a good crime/drama. You can’t get much better than Freeman, Pitt and Spacey in this masterpiece of suspense that delivers all the way until the end. Good job, Addie! May I suggest one of my favorite animated movies, “The Iron Giant” as a palate cleanser? 🙂👍

I’m glad you “enjoyed” Se7en. It’s definitely a movie that sticks with you for a long time. For the guy who was chained in bed for a year, I can’t believe you predicted that he was going to get up. I liked that Somerset kept telling Mills to not dismiss the killer as simply being crazy. That’s how people who commit multiple murders can probably get away by pleading insanity like the lawyer said he could do. And saying he’s crazy dismisses the crimes and the victims too. These murders were unfathomable that it causes our brains to not believe them and dismiss it. It’s like when someone goes to a school and starts killing children, our brains can barely believe it happens.

My older sister drug me to the theater to see this when it first came out. She was/is a big Brad Pitt fan. We were expecting your average crime thriller, maybe a couple of brutal murder scenes, the usual. Needless to say we were surprised. Even after seeing this movie more than a few times,I still squirm at quite a few scenes in this movie.

When you are ready to try some more crime, mystery, thriller type movies, a few good ones are: Primal Fear (1996) Red Dragon (2002) a prequel to Silence of the Lambs L.A. Confidential (1997) Copycat (1995) Any of the John Grisham novels that were made into movies. There are a bunch, my personal favorites are The Firm (1993) The Client (1994) A Time to Kill (1996) The first season of True Detective (2014) is excellent as well.

this was an awesome reaction. its hard to believe this movie is almost 30yrs old, it feels so modern. you can feel its influence on so many horror films, detective films, and just thrillers in general (True Detective, Prisoners, The Dark Knight and more recently and especially, The Batman). I can just picture The Riddler watching Se7en like "heeeyy wait a minute..." lol

I'd put "Red Dragon" and "Hannibal" together as a package deal, being the respective prequel and sequel to "The Silence of the Lambs." Maybe put them forward again for Addie to watch them in October? She can skip "Hannibal Rising," though, since it's pretty much universally despised.
