I've had a few recommendations to watch Daredevil Season 1 before checking out She-Hulk. Should I / do you want me to watch Daredevil S1 next? I've had sooooo many people tell me to watch Daredevil over the last few months and want to know your thoughts! (I would only commit to Season 1 for now)

S1 of daredevil isn't really required for she-hulk. That said, S1 of daredevil is definitely worth your time. In terms of she-hulk, it's worth a watch. I know some people didn't like it/hated it. To me most of that was unjustified - though different people like different things.

Agreed, I’m sure a few of the people who don’t like it have legit reasons. I can’t imagine Addie will have the same problems with it that triggered the hate though. I personally really liked it.

I would recommend watching Daredevil S1, you will probably want to watch more too, the netflix series are really good even though they are outside the MCU. There are already a few "nods" or "corssovers" you missed in other reactions, similar to if you didn't watch the Xmen movies before deadpool. Nothing major, not groundbreaking but still those "Ah now I see" moments.

As others have said, Daredevil and other installments of the Defenders Saga are good shows, but they aren’t required to understand anything as it relates to the MCU at this time, especially since you have already seen versions of a couple those characters. Who knows if that will change, so yes, watching the Defenders Saga is a good idea and starting it now is as good a time as any. I need to to finish a few seasons of those shows myself. As someone else mentioned, just like the MCU and X-Men, there is a watch order of the different series and seasons you should follow in order to understand what is going on in the Defenders Saga. The shows are their own little universe and connected to each other. I thought She-Hulk was fun and I am excited to see what think, but I can wait if you want to get a season of Daredevil under your belt 😜😁

The first season is enough! The rest is still great but a few reactors have got bogged down in the Netflix shows and I'd rather you kept up on the fresher Marvel Universe

Plus, she’s nearly caught up, so there’s always time if she wants to delve into them afterwards. I’m cool if she does the first season of Daredevil, I’m still catching up on my full length watch thru anyways😂

I personally dont think its necessary to watch Daredevil or any of the defenders saga for anything related to the MCU. There is only and a couple of good shows, some of them cancelled and the ones coming to the MCU are rewritten anyway and their characters are toned down to fit the Disney kid friendly narrative of what ever they are doing in this MCU at current. You are now in the part of the MCU that is not so great. So maybe Daredevil will can make up for how bad the MCU is now from a reaction standpoint.

MILD SPOILER (this whole thread is already one but still) While nobody seems to think it's necessary to watch, it certainly will be soon. Like the X-Men stuff, there is quite a lot of it and Addie is already deep into the X-Men dive. And we've already seen 2 FoX-Men show up in MCU things. Might as well start the Defender dive now because those characters are returning. It's already confirmed. The Netflix music is literally in She-Hulk. It's him. It's not a variant. I'm sure Born Again will be a soft reboot but the keyword there is soft. If there aren't nods and references to the Netflix shows, it will be a failure no matter how good the show is otherwise. Imagine if in No Way Home, Tobey and Willem were merely playing variants of their iconic characters. Their character inclusions would've been completely pointless. Now will Disney+ ruin these legacy characters? I don't know, they might try. But I would really like to think whoever has the reigns is a fan of the old stuff.

Please, no more detours on this already-ridiculously long journey. 🤔

I know watch daredevil is winning the poll but but it's not necessary to watch a non MCU show to understand She Hulk for a character that's only there for a few minutes. You haven't taken a detour like this yet on your MCU journey so I ask why start now? There are multiple characters from the Netflix show that will not be on Disney plus. It's not the exact same daredevil. If you want to watch it that's great but please consider waiting till after you're caught up with the actual MCU

Fawks

She watched 5 Spider-Man movies and 8 X-Men movies so far that weren't MCU. And the way she's reacted to No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness, I think she'd agree it was worth getting to know a character before a triumphant cameo. Now how is watching shows that were clearly meant to be set within the MCU a detour in comparison. Also you don't know it's a different Daredevil. You're either assuming the worst or hoping for the worst. All signs point to it's THE Daredevil. Same actor same music same villain actor.

Rich

Yes those movies have been watched but none of that has made the MCU be on pause. That's personally my preference for it to keep going. I'm sure daredevil is a fine show. But they are filming now and Charlie Cox himself says it's not the same character. I'm not assuming anything, I'm going on what he said. Either way the poll is what is and I'll have to deal with that or pause my membership till the MCU resumes.

Fawks

https://screenrant.com/daredevil-mcu-netflix-canon-same-charlie-cox/ The last thing he's said on the matter is that it's the same character. As for the MCU being on pause, I dunno man. What's left? I would much rather get into this stuff or AoS :) rather than the rest of the slop aside from GotG3.

Armando Castillo

Watch all of daredevil but the defenders is in between season 2 and 3. But it is an amazing show
