and now you may get why people was soo hyped as Even Peters aka Peter Maximoff (Quicksilver) showed up in WandaVision as Peitro. The merge of FOX & Disney had just been completed, so this was the first time we thought they would go for the multiverse.. instead, they used him as a boner joke...

So excited for you to get to Deadpool and Logan now! (And also The New Mutants as I'm one of the few who think it's one of the better films in the X-verse)

Jedi Mandalore (Dylan)

FUTURE & COMIC INFO So this film is set in 2023 in a world where Mutants have been rounded up and set to camps in the middle of once great cities. Sentinels once created to hunt only Mutants also know hunt mankind. Pretty much everything's gone to shit. This film draws heavily from the Days of Future Past comic but with many changes. For one instead of Logan being sent back in time it was a much older Kitty Pryde who was sent back into her younger self taking place in modern X-Men times around 1981. The comic's depiction of the future is also set in 2013 while the film is set in 2023. This was pretty cool as the future setting highlighted an older Kitty Pryde a hardened veteran a nice contrast to her younger character who at the time was a new character to the X-Men so fans were pretty undecide on if they liked her or not. The comic also had a larger affect on the larger marvel universe as they all exited together so characters like Spider-Man, Hulk, Captain America, Wanda they were all wiped out in this alternate future. The Roster is also a little different with Storm leading the team and Wolverine, Colossus, Angel, Nightcrawler, and Kitty Pryde backing her up. The comic does spend far more time in this alternate future which is something I wish the film did but nonetheless still a great film. You also had characters like Franklin Richards as well the son of Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four. Franklin Richards is an extremally powerful Mutant so he fits the story. In the end that dark future was undone but it does still exist in the multiverse as Earth-811 a dark future of Earth-616 that could still happen, Comic ends on that note that the future is unclear. Marvel have also explored this alternate future in other comics as well around the time of Days of Future Past so even though it was undone and the Earth-616 timeline was returned to normal I guess the Days of Future Past timeline is still out there carrying on. NEW CHARACTERS Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver) - Peter is the same character you saw in Age of Ultron just much closer to his comic counterpart. Pietro of course is the brother to Wanda Maximoff. I think Bryan Singer confirmed that the young girl is not Wanda, but he had intended to refer to the twin sister off-screen. Magneto is actually the father of both Wanda and Pietro which is hinted at with "You know my mother knew a guy who could do that". I think this was the main reason why Marvel killed off Pietro in the MCU as they were unsure if Fox would've allowed them to use the character much so they decided to kill him off and make that a big part of Wands character arc. Bishop - We also have Omar Sy as Bishop a Mutant from the future we appears in this film but not much. He plays a pretty big part in the comic and in the Days of Future Past Animated Series episode Bishop was actually sent back in time to warn the X-Men rather than kitty jumping into her past self. The animated Series does a really good job with his character and was my introduction to him. Blink - Fan Bingbing plays Blink a really cool Mutant who was apart of Generation X, X-Men and New Mutants. She has the ability to teleport herself and other Mutants along with opening Portals. This was the first time we saw her in an X-Men film no doubt joining sometime in the 2010s maybe. NEW TIMELINE So explained as best as I can Days of Future Past created a whole new timeline that retcons the events of X-Men Wolverine: Origins along with the three original films. The events of X1 to X2 could play out in a similar way to that of the films with Rogue still having her white highlight on her hair from the Statue of Liberty attack in the first film (This could've still happened) but it looks like X3 was affected the most as Jean Grey and Scott Summers are alive and well in this alternate future so it's very likely that the events of X3 never happened. The fact Mutants were revealed to the public in Paris and later in DC with Erik's attack on DC and live broadcast to the world would've changed alot making humanity even more aware of Mutants decades before the first X-Men film. So this point onwards would effect the timeline massively going forward along with Charles insight from Logan of the possible future. In terms of timeframe I'd say that Logan wakes up in the 2020s maybe even 2023 which would explain all the futuristic tech such as holograms. Professor X even has a yellow hover chair very similar to the one in the Animated Series. I could see this chair advancing into the one from the Animated Series which was actually saw in Multiverse of Madness. That Charles visually look just like the Animated Series Professor X but played by Patrick Stewart. So think of this new timeline as a slight reboot where some elements are the same while others are different when compared to the original films. From characters past history to some events never happening and of course characters looking different. This is how the Deadpool movies fit into this new timeline as Origins never happened along with that version of the character. NEW TIMELINE X-Men First Class X-Men: Days of Future Past (1970s) X-Men: Apocalypse X-Men: Dark Phoenix X-Men (Most Likely Plays Out Similar to the Movie) X-Men 2 (Most Likely Plays Out Similar to the Movie) X3: Last Stand (Likely Never Happened) Deadpool Deadpool 2 X-Men: Days of Future Past (New Future 2020s Logan wakes up into) Logan Timeline Map: https://i.redd.it/uyln2ceshq631.png The original X-Men films will no doubt have some big changes but the 2000s has never been explored in this new timeline so we just have to assume the events still happened in a similar way. Wolverine made his way to the X-Men at some point but who knows if this was changed much from the first movie. Same goes with the visual designs as well, do the X-Men wear the same Black Leather suits we see in the film our have they adapted something closer to the comics. Overall love this film it's by far my favourite and just like the comic it was pretty much just a one off story that showed us a possible future. Logan will be something you'll love very much as well along with Deadpool 1 and 2.

Happy Monday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed this X-ellent movie. I plan on watching it when I progress into the entire X-Men film franchise.

"I think Bryan Singer confirmed that the young girl is not Wanda". That makes sense since the girl shown is much younger than Peter and Wanda would be the same age as him since they're twins. I always assumed the girl was Lorna/Polaris.

Jedi Mandalore (Dylan)

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. There is a second sister who is upstairs but we never see her. But there free to makes changes to the sources so I wouldn't be surprised if they introduced as a younger sister.

So the next movie is Deadpool, then X-Men Apocalypse. Super excited for you to meet the merc with a mouth! That's a wild part of the Marvel Universe so prepare yourself. Loved the connections in this movie. Like this is where the different actor who played Pietro in the MCU came from in Wandavision. It really surprised and excited people because they thought they were brining mutants into the MCU. Thats obviously a huge corner so people are really anticipating when they finally do. And there's other things you'll understand about the Maximoff family later, but for now I'll say this.... in the comics, both Wanda and Pietro.... are mutants. In the MCU they made it so that the Mind Stone gave them their powers, but yeah normally they actually are just mutants which is insane. This is definitely my favorite X-Men movie in the Fox Universe. There's maybe one that beats it for me. So the Professor at the very end of the movie is the past Professor (the one played by James McAvoy) not the future one, as that was undone and never happened. So now the timeline is kind of reset, events still coming to pass and since we've advanced in the future, new things might happen.... Can't wait for Deadpool, Addie! You truly aren't ready for what comes next 😅

Now that you know Evan Peters played Quicksilver in the X-Men franchise, I'm sure you can now see how monumental it was when he showed up at the end of WandaVision episode 5 as Pietro. Unfortunately as you saw, they didn't really do anything with it or tie it into the X-Men universe like everyone thought they would, it was more of just a fun nod. But still, now that the multiverse is starting to play a bigger role in the MCU, who knows who or what we could see in the future! Also, a fun easter egg from this movie is that when future Charles is speaking to past Charles, he says "Just because someone stumbles and loses their way, doesn't mean they're lost forever". This is the exact same line Professor X tells Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness in the Illumnati chambers right before Wanda attacks!

I love how Mystique shocked you with her first and last appearances. Other movies you started to guess who she could be and then when you stopped, SURPRISE!! In a more perfect world you would have been able to see this before you saw WandaVision. Imagine how we lost our minds when we saw an X-Man in the episode!! I did enjoy how your eyes recognized“Maximoff” on the mailbox. Rewatching this, I got Moon Knight vibes of Ammit when Erik realized that Mystique is a link to the battle that lies in their future. We’re lucky that Thanos wasn’t in the picture. Wolverine and Magneto Sorry that I’m repeating myself a bit (from a previous movie) but in a different fight between them, Magneto pulls the adamantium out of his body. Here, we saw all of the rebar sticking in and out of him, it mimicked the comic scene of the fight. Out of all of the movies that followed this, I look forward to everything coming our way. Take care, Addie!!

this was fun, really enjoyed revisiting this.

I can't for the life of me figure out what kind of half brained raving lunatic would talk you into watching the theatrical version. What a waste of a subscription

While I agree the Rogue Cut makes way more sense, it's Disney's fault for not having it available. I can't imagine you've been watching all these movies to get to this of all points though.
