So the origins of Ms. Marvel are actually fairly recent. She was created in 2013, I believe. So she's much more modern, and it's a really cool concept, that of course in a world with all these heroes, there would be a mega fan that also would become one herself. 😅 The origin of her powers are also very different in the comics, and I'll explain more once you finish the show, but the direction they take here makes much more sense for where the MCU is heading. Iman Venani is literally born to play Kamala Kahn, she's a mega fan of Ms. Marvel and the Marvel Comics in general, and this literally feels like a comic come to life, with how light hearted and fun Kamala is. They hit this life of a Pakastani family in Jersey right on the head. Also the guy at the end was the same guy who works at Damage Control that we saw in No Way Home, who arrested Peter. So he's got his fingers in several affairs with people with powers.

For me, Ms. Marvel was like Moon Knight. I only knew of them through my trading cards and thought that they were strange ideas of characters. But after the first episode I bought into the idea they were pitching.

I forgot how good the first episode is! I wish they kept this momentum the whole series, but maybe I'll reconsider on rewatch with your reaction!
