The character of Anton Mogart (the guy that owned the sarcophagus and enjoyed riding around on a horse bare-chested) was supposed to become a recurring character in the MCU. Unfortunately, the actor portraying him (Gaspard Ulliel) died in a tragic skiing accident after filming this episode (but before it was released). There is an In Memoriam dedication at the end of this episode.

This is definitely one of the better shows I think, and that's saying something, cause I've loved all the MCU shows so far. Oscar Isaac's performance is truly phenomenal. Also, I really enjoy Ethan Hawke as Harrow. He's also a great actor, giving a really cult like feel to him and his followers. What's more, he truly believes in what he preaches. I love that you can hear the glass still in his shoes when he walks. So gnarly, but a great detail. I'm so excited for the next three episodes, Addie! Stuff really ramps up, and things become much clearer. 😅

When Madripoor was mentioned it registered immediately with you. Honestly, it went over my head until I saw other reactors talk about it. The amazement in your eyes when his cape filled into the moon shape was priceless! I was blown away too. The transformations between Steven/Marc and Marc/Steven are incredible and that reflects on the talent of Oscar Isaac!! Since The Mandalorian is over you have given us something to look forward to on Wednesdays! Thank you!! Take care, Addie and Ollie!!

I wish this show had been released all at once like Netflix puts their stuff out, because trying to watch this one episode a week was difficult. Binging it is definitely the way to go. I can't wait for you to see the final three, they're AMAZING, you are going to love them. It's a pretty popular opinion that Marvel isn't very good at creating good female characters, but Layla is wonderful. I was hoping for Moon Knight to appear in the MCU for a long time, but I was always worried about how the outfit would look. I wish I could say I'm totally satisfied, but it looks a bit too much like someone cosplaying Moon Knight at Comic-Con. It was always going to be a tough one to pull off in live-action though, and it could have been a LOT worse.

Madripoor was pretty big for reasons related to the X-Men. Madripoor first appeared in The New Mutants #32 (October 1985) while also featuring heavily in the solo Wolverine run a few years later. You can even see a neon sign for The Princess Bar a location Often visited by Logan under the Identity of Patch where he wore a white suit and wore an eyepatch with slicked back hair. Madripoor is also where Logan first met Captain America in WW2 when he was own as "The Canadian" so who knows. I'm not sure if Captain America fought in the pacific in the MCU but assuming he did and we just skipped over it he could've actually met Logan there. In theory they could've fought beside in other at one point we just never saw it for Legal reasons. So this is very much Marvel's first step at building out the world so they can introduce Mutants just laying the ground work and who knows maybe we'll see some Mutants in the MCU Earth-616 soon not counting Multiverse of Madness.
