While "Christmas Vacation" is one of those few sequels that can stand completely on its own, I do hope you'll eventually watch the original "Vacation".

I hope you'll watch the original "Vacation" movie from 1983 some time next summer. It's just as good. Of course, the less said about "European Vacation" and "Vegas Vacation," the better (you're free to watch them, as always, but they're not even in the same league).
