They rebuilt Hobbiton in permanent materials for these films so we can actually go to the Shire now Vacation dream

That was great, Addie, you're really enjoyable to watch. I would definitely recommend the extended version for the last film, if at all possible. I feel it ties things up a little better.

Hi Addie - i watched your YouTube of LotR trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed your comments and sweet child like awe you had for them. It was touching to see such a refreshing reaction to something so deeply meaningful to me, as I've been a fan of the books for nearly 40 years. So with the Hobbit I figured I should sign up for your Patreon so that I could watch the whole thing and will prob go back and watch all 11 hours of your LotR experience. Notice in this Hobbit how Gollum "lost" the ring. He didn't just lose it - remember the ring is sentient. it WANTS to be found and brought to its master, Sauron. In the intro to Fellowship, Galladriel is telling the story of The Ring "...it abandoned Gollum" she said. It knew that a new ring-bearer would be a better chance of getting back to its master. To answer your question about Saruman - yes he was already compromised by the time of the council meeting at Rivendell. He had secretly been searching for The One Ring for many years - searching the river where it was lost....er abandoned Isildur in the river. He didn't know river hobbit had found it. He wanted power and knew The One Ring would do that. Later he would use the Pallantir (crystal ball seeing eye stone) as a two-way radio to Sauron. As for the spiders and creepy stuff in the woods - it's linked to dark power at Dol Goldur as you know. But that power "the Necromancer" is a prelude to the return of Sauron. Remember in Fellowship when Frodo first learned of The Ring from Gandalf "His (Sauron) body was destroyed, but his spirit endured...he cannot yet take physical form" Body being destroyed explains the 400 years of peace that Saruman and Elrond spoke of. Saruman chose to ignore the signs Gandalf spoke of the growing evil, and downplayed these at during their Council meeting because....well....he didn't want to complicate his own schemes with all that would come of admitting to such ill news. Also - remember in Fellowship when Frodo was stabbed at Weathertop by the Morgul blade; Strider laid Frodo down to have him and Sam find the weed that would stop the poison (Athalas plant aka "kingsfoil"), he was laid down where the three trolls had turned to stone. Sam said "Look Mister Frodo, it's Bilbo's trolls" (cuz Bilbo was telling that tale to the children at his 111th birthday party). One last thing to note - the dwarf with the red hair (Gloin) is Gimli's father.

The actors who played Fíli and Kíli described them as basically the William and Harry of the Dwarf world. I think that's a totally spot-on comparison. 😎
