Here's the full length reaction to Mission: Impossible 2! I actually liked this one? Maybe I just went in with low expectations because I heard that this was the worst of the MI movies, but this one was a lot of fun! Enjoy!

Hope you feeling better Addie. 😘

Happy Mission: Impossible Monday, Addie. I'm so glad that you still enjoyed Mission: Impossible 2 (2000), despite the bad rap it gets. Even I enjoyed this one too. See you soon for Mission: Impossible III (2006). BTW, I do hope that you'll feel better soon.

Happy Monday, Addie! 😊 First and foremost, I hope that you're feeling better and got plenty of rest over the weekend. And secondly, I'm looking forward to continuing on with the "Mission: Impossible" journey with this second movie. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day, and continue to get plenty of rest. 😊

Speaking of John Woo, who directed this movie, I also suggest Last Hurrah for Chivalry (1984), Hard Boiled (1992), Hard Target (1993), Broken Arrow (1996), Face/Off (1997), Windtalkers (2002), Paycheck (2003), Red Cliff: Part I (2008), Red Cliff: Part II (2009), Silent Night (2023) and The Killer (2024). #MoreJohnWooForAddieCounts *Please note that the movies listed here are only the ones that are available to stream.

I mean like, since you enjoyed this one then the rest of the series will be mind blowing.

Alex Tan

It just keeps getting better and better as the film series progresses.

Addie, in the movies going forward, remember. If Tom Cruise is doing an amazing stunt sequence, just know it's not special effects and not green screen. He is doing them all for real. If you get the chance, after each film, there is lots of great behind the scenes footage.

Luis Fernandez

Just wait until it is revealed that Ethan Hunt was really Mystique all along!

I saw this in the theatres and was blown away. John Woo great action director, although his American movies aren't quite as good as his Asian movies. Also the story line I felt held up especially in today's world.

Speaking of behind the scenes footage, I've sent some in the reply of my comment.

I do not care for this one, but it is not a bad movie. I just think John Woo's style was wrong for this franchise. Otherwise it is a perfectly fine John Woo film, with a few flaws.

I am fairly certain that Tom Cruise did his own climbing in the start of the movie, but they did have him wired up for safety, and removed the wires in post. I am not certain he did all of it, but I think he did. I think doing his own stunts was why he started producing the films.

Mike Adams

It's not that this is the "worst" MI movie, it's that it's the most different. It just doesn't have the same feel as the others. Can't wait for MI:3, probably my fave.

Ian Forbes

Addie, how would you get villain vibes from Hannibal Lecter? 😀. Glad you enjoyed it!

Doug

I actually like this one a little better than the first one, mainly just because I like the way a lot of the action sequences are shot. (You could tell this was a John Woo flick from all the birds! 🕊) And it was kind of neat seeing Brendan Gleeson in this as the pharmaceutical CEO since he also later played the General who Tom Cruise's got on the wrong side of in Edge of Tomorrow. I guess that was a bit of a reunion for them. 🙂

Julian San

I know this movie is touted as the worst of the series but I think it’s highly underrated. It has John Woo’s visual style all over it and is a very fun action movie.

AzraRillian

Glad you liked it, Addie. I agree that its not a terrible movie, even if i do consider it kind of a dumb fun action movie, which is very different than the others. I don't remember if you've seen any movies with Thandie Newton, who played Nyah, but I do know you've seen her daughter. She was the lovely and talented young lady that played Joel's daughter in the first episode of The Last of Us. Hope youre felling better soon, and have a great day.

Mr. Writhms

You nailed it. Woo's style (though great) just didn't fit the Mission Impossible feel with all the slow-mo shots and the character stand-offs. Not to mention Cruise's long hair.

ButtercupsTrueLove

Agreed. Wrong choice of a director for the "Mission: Impossible" franchise. John Woo's prolonged gun battles seem out of place in this film and go on for far too long.

ButtercupsTrueLove

Thandiwe Newton began using her actual full name in recent years. She's immensely talented and demonstrated it early on in, "Crash" (2004), about social prejudices when worlds collide.
