YES to Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. But uhhh.... Spaceballs sucks.

Addie, I'm glad "Blazing Saddles" is pulling ahead, because it's about time you started your Mel Brooks experience (Men In Tights could've waited, but what's done is done), & imo Blazing Saddles is the place to start. It's the ultimate satire of racism & prejudice, & Uncle Mel pulls zero punches. As others have pointed out, it's best to see certain movies before seeing 'Young Frankenstein', 'Spaceballs' & 'High Anxiety'.

Fantastic summary, @LaserLamb: Blazing Saddles is "the ultimate satire of racism and prejudice". Yup!

The Mirandalorian did a huge jump down the Mel Brooks rabbit hole a couple of months ago, watching all 6 movies in this poll (as well as "Men in Tights"), and it was glorious. That's probably too much too soon for you, but here's hoping you also eventually watch them all (as well as "Silent Movie" and "To Be or Not to Be" -- maybe even "The Twelve Chairs").
