Title - Rock Slinger: Awesome! Round of applause, you looked amazing Astrid. The rocks went swoosh, then bang! I liked it a lot!
| Lifting earth with Psychokinesis is 25% easier.
| Earth does 10% more damage.
| 15 added intelligence.
| 15 added wisdom.
| 15 added constitution.

Just you wait blob, I’m going to get to the bottom of this. To the bottom of your origin. Astrid grit her teeth.

It was strange shouting at a child-like voice that was lodged within her head for weeks. She decided against the new title, she wasn’t a fan of a title that was niche. Thinking about the titles, she checked the ones she currently had. Two of them now, instead of one.

Titles:
1. Child of the Void Part 1

2. Knife Thrower!

Child of the void added impressive stats, it was the obvious one to pick. Knife Thrower! On the other hand provided a very nice attacking capability, but it wasn’t what she needed right now. Unless she met with a very strong enemy within her Mind Domain.

Wait, since I have two, do I have two changes instead of one? Astrid asked the blob, and sure enough, the words entered her mind.

You have two changes left for today.

With the decision, she had no reason to think anymore.

Titles:
1. Child of the Void Part 1

2. The Power of Friendship!

With the Power of Friendship title buff granting her 20 added intelligence, 20 added wisdom, and fifteen percent added barrier strength, it would be of great help. And that left her for a free change to something more aggressive if the need arose.

She gazed around, it seemed safe. Just like she had thought, the threat of the Golem made sure to keep all the voidlings at bay.

As she exited the System, it was clear she had to prepare. Most of her mana potions were back at the fortress, and if she wanted to waltz into potential enemy territory, then she needed all the mana she could get.

But, her mana container felt like pins and needles were attempting to break through the soft lining of her insides. The raw, impure mana was still swirling through her container and without using it all, then she would suffer the consequences of mana poisoning.

Astrid cancelled Mind Domain and the palace vanished. Her skill needed a monster for it to activate, but that wasn’t much of a worry. It was time to go back and fetch the remainder of her mana potions. Hopefully the palace was a short excursion.

She left the courtyard. On the way back, she made sure to expend all of the extra mana that the potions provided. Whether it was throwing rocks with Psychokinesis or creating Major Images all over the place.

Although she made sure to break them once created. If she left too many, then she wouldn’t know which one was broken if a monster made contact with it. The fact that she only had the two remaining, and they still hadn’t broken told her that her fortress was safe.

***

Astrid returned back to the courtyard with her full backpack, and a small voidling that hovered in front of her.

The monster tried everything in its power. From manically waving its claws in the air, to spitting out vile liquid from its jagged mouth. Of course, it couldn’t get past the barrier that Astrid had placed around her.

“Thank you little one.” Astrid said.

Her mind sunk into the bunny-like eyes of the voidling and entered the Mind Domain. Astrid gazed at the pointy ears of the beast. It would be cute if it wasn’t for the demonic look in its eyes. Or the ferocious, blade-like claws that wanted nothing more than to rip her to shreds.

With a twitch of her Psychokinesis, the neck of the voidling bunny was crushed.

Astrid walked in front of the grand palace doors. They were engraved with countless pictures and they were familiar. Much like the murals back within the Jailer’s dungeon, it depicted an enormous battlefield. Numerous monsters that she had never seen before fought each other.

The majority of them were humans, well, not quite. Some had pointed ears, some had tails growing from their lower back, and others were short with beards that almost hit the floor.

Skills of all kinds slayed the people within the engraving. All the elements were thrown around in chaos. Mighty warriors used weapons to chop others in two. Once the warriors were dead, the black blob inside of them seeped out of their bodies and withered into nothing.

So if I die, the black blob dies along with me. That means the Class is also gone? Astrid placed her hand on her chest. She could feel a sense of loss and longing within her.

Your Sadness has reached 63/100.

That wasn’t me this time. Black blob, control yourself. I will get answers. Astrid steeled herself and pushed on the doors. The mural meant she was in the right place.

The enormous black stone doors refused to budge.

What the hell. Astrid strained her muscles. All sixty points of it. Her arms trembled, and her feet dug into the ground, yet it didn’t make a sound, let alone budge.

Oh, screw it. Astrid flared her psychic mana and pushed with Psychokinesis. Without even using a fraction of her mana, it opened without any resistance.

Does it need to be opened with only Skills, or is it because I have Psychokinesis? Astrid frowned in thought.

If it was the latter, then that along with having to enter this place with Mind Domain meant that this place was designed specifically for her. In order to enter the palace, someone would need both a mind domain skill, and Psychokinesis.

Shaking her head from the thoughts, she created her defences, then walked straight in.

The engravings from the door continued, but instead of being scratched into the walls, it was a sprawling picture frame that started in the hallway and travelled all the way down.

Just from how long the pictures travelled for, and the extent of the battlefield, she could only imagine how long it must have gone on for. Weeks, months, maybe even years?

The hallway was enormous, easily capable of fitting tens of people to her left and right. It also stretched up high above. White stone pillars contrasted against the black walls and they continued from one side of the wall to the other as an archway.

As she walked down the enormous hall, a stray thought crawled into her mind. If she was now a host to one of those Class black blobs, she was worried she would be dragged into a war.

The thought weighed down on her as the wide hallway opened up into a vast room. From the outside of the palace, she was expecting gaudy ornaments and a grand chandelier that hung from high above and sparkled like a clear night sky. That wasn’t the case.

The room was mostly empty. Four pillars were situated in the corners of the room, presumably holding up the ceiling, but she lacked the building experiences to tell if that was indeed what they were for.

The Second Trial of the Void Progenitor has begun.

You can not escape, nor back out.

The trial ends when you have won, or have died.

Oh what now. Astrid stood on guard.

Without waiting, she created four other Wayfarers around her, just like a normal team composition.

A door to the left opened up and a voidling shot straight for her major image without a moment's hesitation. Astrid flinched at the speed.

She created a mass of matter in the air and exploded it just as the monster passed through the illusion. The monster moved so fast, that the explosion only caught the tail end of the creature. Blood splashed to the floor and the monster had its entire back half removed.

Yet it changed directions in mid-air, as if stepping on something in the air and opened its maw. It was about to snap its jaws down on her barrier. Although she was confident in her newly powered up barrier stopping the attack, she didn’t want to waste more of her mana.

Astrid was already using a continuous supply of mana to fuel Mind Domain, she couldn’t afford to be wasteful. Especially with the unknown clear time of this damned war memorial.

With the beat having to stop step mid-air, and the fact that it no longer had any back legs, Astrid managed to barely get control of it. The monster halted in mid-air. It struggled as blood dripped onto the floor. Its front limbs scraped through the air, and its mouth repeatedly snapped shut.

Its size was almost like a goblin, but smaller. It had smooth skin, and was somewhat slimy. Its front… hands were webbed and long claws emerged from the tips of its fingers. The monster had a slender head that reminded her of a basic fish.

Spawn? Astrid gazed in shock.

She was about to expand her Psych Domain so that she could Identify the monster, but something else from the opened door shot towards her like a bullet.

Another fish monster blasted toward her, followed by another. They once more pierced through her illusion, and recalculated their movement within a split second and shot at her. Once they approached together, they immediately split off into two different directions.

One on the left, and the other on the right.

Astrid frowned and controlled the matter to either side of her. Once in range, she [Crashed] it in an enormous explosion.

The monster tried to dodge, but the explosion widened in the last second, engulfing them completely.

Astrid’s frown turned into a scowl. For the first time during her awakening, these monsters could detect her matter control. Before more could arrive, she recreated her illusions and took initiative.

Astrid quickly patted her pouch and took out a handful of throwing needles she had created in advance. Judging by the ever doubling amount of them, it was time to use precision instead of brute force. She placed the needles just behind the illusion in preparation.

More monsters appeared, doubling in amount. She focused her mind to the maximum and concentrated on the speed of the monsters. They rapidly approached the illusions.

Sure hope she doesn't lose her class upgrade because a monster dies from blood loss after a psychokinetic attack lol.

Wasn’t one of the rewards for the trial the ability to have more than one title selected? So was killing the golem a partial clear and so she can set two titles now? She certainly isn’t going to select “canister go boom” at the moment. Though I suppose since this is her mind domain, creation of explosive canisters may be effective depending on the enemy.

Seems I misunderstood the title upgrade to be an award for the mission (maybe I was sleepy at the time). Instead she already got it from discovering the dungeon and the legendary class upgrade is completely clearing this place. Astrid only interacted with it now. ‘Granting world first reward - Second Title Slot: A System upgrade for the Title slot. Granting world first reward: Title. Title - Child of the Void Part 1: Sounds like something special. Oh no, watch out for your ego or it may go hawywire! | 35 added intelligencentellgence. | 30 added wisdom. | 20 added constitution. | Illusions are 50% stronger. | Mind attacks are 25% stronger. Creating Dungeon Mission - The Voidwalker: Complete the dungeon by finishing off monsters with nothing but the power of illusions. Mission Reward: Legendary secondary class upgrade.’
