Early Release: SHKK 15 (Patreon)

Dang, y'all. I had a whole bit I was planning on writing, as I was washing my hair in the shower this morning. I decided that I wouldn't be just randomly typing stuff into the box while the file is uploading, talking about boring stuff like TREES or DEATH or whatever else I talk about when I type these up. No, today, there would be JOKES. 

Then I sat down at the computer, and my mouse didn't work. That's weird, but maybe it's out of juice. I plug it in: nothing. The keyboard works, though, so I search the shortcut for rebooting the Mac, and then bam, I'm hit with an entire system update. 30 minutes of watching a bar crawl along, and the entire time the bar says 1minute remaining. 

Eventually the bar goes all the way to the right and the computer does several reboots and I can login, but guess what? Mouse still doesn't work. The computer helpfully provides a box that tells me no mouse is connected, and that it's trying to find a mouse, but wants me to click ok on a dialog box which I can't do.....because I have no mouse. 

Eventually I dig up the mouse that came with the computer, which of course is not charged. Unfortunately, Apple placed the charging port on the bottom of the mouse so I have to wait even longer for it to get enough juice so I can do stuff on the damn machine.

Finally, I can get into the Bluetooth window, and when I put the mouse in pairing mode, it comes up as a new device. Weird, but ok whatever.  It's finally connected and working and I can go about my day editing the dang podcast and then going to work. 

Just then, my phone rings. My lovely wife, who I've been texting this entire time, complaining about broken mice and updates and charging ports, is calling to tell me that HER mouse isn't working either. Her mouse that looks exactly like my mouse, and that she hurriedly tossed into her laptop bag as she was packing for her work trip yesterday. 

HUH I think I figured it the mystery of the broken mouse, y'all.
