i accidentally deleted my comment about Old Fashioned Cupcake and this show's first 3 episodes have the same director. This 4th episode is directed by someone else from what I know.

apparently the director for this episode is more used to directing commercial ads and this might be theur debut in directing a series episode idk but its pretty much the reason why they use graphics in this episode.

there is someone in tumblr who makes analysis of each episode in a D/s perspective and apparently they said Segasaki and Yoh is pretty much Brat Tamer and Brat sub lol. Honestly some of their behavior when explained in that perspective start to make sense except that they still have huge communication problems which is the main plot of the story I guess. Navigating an established relationship that have this big miscommunication and whether they both will be able to understand each other much better by the end of it lol. segasaki has a habit of being too casual and rude in speech when speaking to yoh which might show how much close he views his relationship with yoh in contrast with how he put on a mask of polite niceness with other people he puts up his guard with like what he did with man-san. and i agree with how you view yoh not liking his irrational feelings due to being in love so he keeps denying it and saying he hates Segasaki though he becomes more honest when drunk/ lowered inhibition.
